St James’s Club Antigua is a perfectly located superior hotel set in its own large grounds. Located in a 100-acre secluded peninsula in the south-east of the island, in one of Antigua’s most stylish areas, it’s just a 30-minute drive from the airport or to St John’s, the historic capital.

Golfers can delight in not one but two 18-hole golf courses (for an additional fee): the Cedar Valley Golf Course and the Jolly Harbor Golf Club. The views are stunning and the greens are as green as can be.
The Club area offers a choice of 215 rooms, royal suites and villas, all with high-quality furnishings and amenities and views of the tropical garden or beach. All have private balconies or terraces and are equipped with air-conditioning, ceiling fans, fridges and coffee makers. Club Rooms are on the ground floor, while Beachfront Rooms offer lucky occupants direct access to the beach. For waterfront views of Mamora Bay, choose one of the large Royal Suites, each of which has a sunken living room and expansive bathroom. Families and groups may prefer one of the 40 Hillside Villas in the ‘Village’ area, which offer two bedrooms, a kitchen and a large living area.
You’re surrounded by beaches – Mamora Bay and Coco Beach – and pools – there are six – here, so it’s easy to get in the swim. But if swimming or snorkelling are not your thing, there are plenty of other active options, from tennis on the resort’s four courts to Hobie cat sailing, pedal boating, surfing or kayaking – equipment and lessons are free for guests. Overlooking Coco Beach you’ll find the St James’s purpose-built Kidz Club, which ensures younger guests get to join in the fun too. There’s also a well-equipped seaside gym, with views that you will make you forget how hard you’re working out.
There are a number of options to choose from as St James’s offers four restaurants, all individual There’s the large and airy space of the Rainbow Garden for breakfast, lunch and dinner or, if you prefer somewhere a bit more breezy, try the Coco Beach Restaurant and Bar, with its fine sea views,. Also with fine views, and offering Italian cuisine with a Caribbean twist, is the Piccolo Mondo – set on a hillside, it offers a more romantic, intimate setting. And the nautical-themed Docksider Grill is the place to come for regional dishes and fresh fish, overlooking Mamora Bay and accompanied by live steel band music. Elsewhere, poolside bars and lounges abound, so you’ll never be short of somewhere to catch a snack or enjoy a rum punch.
