Not many countries in Africa can match Namibia's sheer natural beauty and there are few more stirring desert realms on the planet - from the perfect dead-tree valleys to the massive sand dunes plunging down to the sea along the Skeleton Coast. Through the heart of the country is a spine of mountains creating glorious scenery and jaw-dropping canyons and it's hard to think of an iconic African landscape that the country doesn't possess. Few countries in Africa can match Namibia's sheer natural beauty. The country's name derives from the world's oldest desert, the Namib, and there are few more stirring desert realms on the planet - from the perfect dead-tree valleys to the otherworldliness of massive sand dunes plunging down to the sea along the Skeleton Coast. Through the heart of the country is a spine of mountains that create glorious scenery and jaw-dropping canyons and it's hard to think of an iconic African landscape that the country doesn't possess. All this, as well as being one of the best places to view wildlife.

In the vast arid space of Northern Namibia lies one of Southern Africa’s best loved wildlife sanctuaries . . . and on this fantastic four day tour you will see the best of it. Etosha National Park offers excellent game viewing in one of Africa’s most accessible venues. Zebra and springbok are scattered across the endless horizon, while the many waterholes attract endangered black rhinoceros, lion, elephant and large numbers of antelope. Etosha, meaning 'place of dry water’, encloses a huge flat depression, or pan, which provides a great, parched, silver-white backdrop of shimmering mirages to an area of semi-arid savannah grassland and thorn scrub. The pan itself contains water only after very good rains and sometimes for only a few days, but is enough to stimulate the growth of a blue-green algae which lures thousands of flamingos.
