Capella Lodge is Lord Howe Island’s premium boutique accommodation and commands stunning ocean and mountain views offering a civilised, stylish and sophisticated escape. Lord Howe Island is encircled by the southern-most coral reef in the world and was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1982.
The petite Capella Spa indulges body and soul. A signature menu of rejuvenating and relaxation treatments embraces the Island’s endemic kentia palms and marine environment. Guests have a choice of indulging in the quirky designer chic of Mambo artist Bruce Goold’s interiors or embracing the outdoors in the Kentia Pavilion.
All suites complement the island's pristine natural environment and provide a luxurious, serene refuge. Spacious, light filled interiors feature timber floors, marine ply joinery and custom furniture pieces which create a sophisticated beach house ambience. They have MP3 docking stations, DVD players and wireless internet. Capella Suites and Capella Family Suites have a single level design complete with high ceilings, distinctive marine accented texiles by Sydney artist Julie Paterson and includes an integrated lounge with Prime Time swivel chairs from Denmark and private outdoor deck with partial views of the ocean and mountains. The Lagoon Loft is a comfortable mezzanine style suite with the bedroom upstairs, living area downstairs and private decks on both levels. Views from the upper level extend to the reef-fringed lagoon, ocean and to the mountains rising ahead. The Makambo Suite features a generous upstairs king sleeping area, reached by a striking red spiral staircase.
Explore the area's unspoilt, awe-inspiring beauty by foot or bicycle. Pack a picnic or explore the island's abundant marine life with a snorkelling adventure.
The main Lodge including Capella Restaurant, Makambo Bar and intimate Kentia Lounge all have compelling mountain and ocean vistas and offer sensational cuisine with a focus on seasonal, local produce.
