Built in 19th-century classic style with plenty of marbles and stuccoes , the Palazzo Monte has 82 Superior and Deluxe rooms and Spa Fitness, Business, Pierre Chareau and SIgnature suites, all individually designed and furnished in elegant contemporary style, with modern curved lines and minimalist simplicity. Décor is neutral with creams and natural wood finishes or white and soft grey, with accents of rich colour to provide contrast. Marble and stone bathrooms have glass walls allowing natural light to flood in, showers or tubs, and hairdryers. Spa Fitness Suites have a spa hamman and fitness equipment, while Business Suites have a separate private meeting room for up to 10 people, and the Pierre Chareau suites have a peparate cylindrical living area inspired by the architect’s Maison de Verre. When in Rome… but first you have to sample the Palazzo Montemartini’s Spa – inspired by the Baths of Diocletian, just a short distance away. Water is the basis of the whole spa concept here, with the three pools at different temperatures, treatment rooms, sensory showers, salt room, relaxation room, sauna and steam room. Suitably hydrated, you can then take on the delights of the city itself, or, come back to relax in the spa after a hard day’s sightseeing.
