Just 40 minutes’ drive from Grantley Adams International Airport and 20 minutes from the capital of Bridgetown, Treasure Beach Resort by Elegant Hotels is set on Payne’s Bay, St James, one of the most beautiful white sand beaches of the west coast of Barbados, at where it is surrounded by lush tropical gardens and emerald green manicured lawns overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Room Description

The 35 Ocean, Pool and Garden suites are set in a horseshoe shape around the pool and each have a separate living room leading out to a private furnished balcony or patio. Real romantics should book one of the three exclusive VIP suites, the Hummingbird , Hemingway or the Hibiscus, which each have their own private plunge pools. The Hemingway is the largest and has stunning views across the garden towards the beach, while the Hibiscus overlooks Payne’s Bay, and features dark hardwood furniture, and a well stocked wet bar. Relax in the freshwater pool on the terrace surrounded by tropical gardens, or wander to the beach where there is a list of activities to chose from including diving, snorkelling, water skiing, Hobie cat and Sailing, wind surfing and deep sea fishing. For land lubbers there is golf at the Sandy Lane, Apes Hill and Royal Westmoreland clubs, horse riding, shopping, sight seeing and island safaris. Then when you ‘ve done all that, you can come back and enjoy a treatment in the spa – including massages, facials, scrubs and wraps, manicures and pedicures. If you’re planning to tie the knot, Treasure Beach is an idyllic place for a wedding – including the Old Mahogany Tree – and offers a comprehensive package which takes care of everything.


Eating at Treasure Beach is simple but delicious. Tapestry Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, offering innovative a la carte menus – while for drinks, Batik Bar serves great rum-based concoctions – including the ‘best rum punch on the island’. The Wine Cellar helps guests to explore an extensive selection of wines with a host of mixology and specialy culinary events.
