Cuba is a very special country and any visit will leave you with so many wonderful memories. And on this amazing 15 day tour you will see so many of the highlights. Beginining and ending in the pulsating capital Havana you will visit Santiago de Cuba, stay at a beach resort at lovely Baracoa, spend time in Camaguey and colourful colonial Trinidad as well as historic Santa Clara. Now is a great time to visit Cuba and this journey around the country will leave you with lots of great memories.
Day 1
Arrive Havana
After arriving in Havana you will be met at the airport and transferred to your homestay The adventure begins tonight. Feel free to explore before your welcome meeting, but make sure you’re back in time to meet the group. After introductions, your tour leader will review the details of your tour

Day 2
Havana to Santa Clara
Today you leave Havana to your next destination of the tour, Santa Clara. Here you can visit the Che Guevara mausoleum and museum and find out everything there is to know about the incredible life and death of one of the world's most famous guerrilla fighters who became a legend after helping Castro's revolution. Tonight why not try one of Santa Clara's local restaurants.

Day 3
Santa Clara - Bayamo
Travel overland across Eastern Cuba to Bayamo, known as the Cradle of the Cuban Revolution. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore – opt to hire a horsecart like the locals to tour the area or people watch in the pedestrian only Plaza de la Revolución

Day 4
Bayamo to Baracoa
Today we continue onto Baracoa for three days and get the lay of the land with an orientation walk. The area offers everything from beaches to waterfalls to hiking opportunities and museums. Beguiling, outlandish and surreal, the essence of Baracoa is addictive and it is one of the island's best kept secrets.

Day 5
A full day to enjoy the delights of Baracoa which is home to great museums and a good spot to go hiking from. Here you can feast your eyes on deep green foliage that is wonderfully abundant after the stark arid area's of Guantanamo's south coast. Here you can delve into fantastical legends and take a hike to El Yunque but the breathtaking beaches are never far away and this is a great place to chill out during your tour around the island.

Day 6
Your last day at this paradise location so make the most of it. Now may be a good time to acquaint yourself with the unorthodox cast of local characters and hear about their stories. There's Cayamba, the self-styled 'Guerrilla troubadour' who once claimed he was the man with the ugliest voice in the world, La Rusa, an aristocratic Russian emigre who inspired a novel and Enriqueta Faber, a French woman who passed herself off as a man to practice as a doctor and marry a local heiress in Baracoa's cathedral in 1891.

Day 7
Baracoa to Santiago de Cuba
Today we drive along the rugged coast towards Santiago de Cuba and take an orientation walk with the group leader on arrival.. This city is often regarded as the root of the Cuban revoloution and the many museums retrace key events. Santiago mixes modern architecture and industrial developments with its colourful colonial gems and historic fort and being home to the country's most prominent universities it has a young and vibrant edge.

Day 8
Santiago to Sierra Meastra
Spend some more time seeing the sights in Santiago before leaving and heading Travel into the heart of Sierra Maestra National Park, and stay in quaint wooden cabins next to the Yara River. Enjoy free time for hikes or relaxing in nature.

Day 9
Sierra Maestra-Camaguey
Hike through the Sierra Maestra mountains in the footsteps of Che Guevarra and Fidel Castro and learn more about Cuba's history. Arrive in the afternoon to Camagüey. Enjoy free time to explore. Opt to visit an art gallery, take in a ballet performance, hop in the back of a "bicitaxi" (bicycle-taxi) and tour the local markets and plazas, or take in the city's nightlife. Your journey will continue west across the Carretera Central to Camagüey, the third largest city on island. It retains much of its colonial heritage in its buildings, plazas and its tinajones, large clay pots traditionally used in Spain and in its New World colonies for collecting rain water. Explore the narrow winding streets and impressive sites.

Day 10
Enjoy an orientation walk and included salsa lesson in Trinidad. Todaye we leave Camaguey and enjoy the beautiful scenery with a stop along the way for an optional visit to La Torre del Esclavo before continuing on to Trinidad. Trinidad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Home to lovely Spanish-style churches and great museums, Trinidad is a hub of cultural activity, never out of earshot from a group of musicians playing local salsa or son. Enjoy an included salsa lesson during your time in Trinidad.

Day 11
A full day to relish the delights of Trinidad. Huge sugar fortunes were amassed in the nearby Valle de los Ingenios during the early 19th century which created the illustrious colonial-style mansions bedecked with Italian frescoes, Wedgwood china and French chandeliers. Declared a world heritage site by Unesco in 1988, Cuba's oldest and most enchanting 'outdoor museum' attracts busloads of tourists daily to walk its cobblestone streets. Tonight you have dinner as a group hosted by one of the homestay families.

Day 12
Trinidad to Cienfuegos
Travel along the coast to colonial Cienfuegos. Learn more about the city on an orientation walk.

Day 13
Cienfuegos - Havana
Drive along the picture-perfect Bay of Pigs, and learn more about the Cuban victory in 1961 at the Giron Museum. Enjoy free time for swimming and snorkelling before returning to Havana. Tonight it's well worth taking another stroll along the Malecon to see the fantastic 'parade' of colourful old American cars and have a cocktail or two in one of Ernest Hemmingway's favourite watering holes.

Day 14
You final full day of the tour is spent in Havana so make the most of this wonderful city and see more of the sights. Today you will see the city by vintage car then take a walking tour of Havana and find out what your guide loves best about this amazing city. See city highlights that may include La Catedral de San Cristóbal de La Habana, the Palacio de los Marqueses de Aguas Claras (which now houses a restaurant), the Museo de Arte Colonial and the Plaza de Armas, with its statue of Manuel de Céspedes .Then use this walk as a jumping off point to explore the rest of this lively city.

Day 15
End of tour
Today your wonderful tour around Colonial Cuba comes to an end. Possibly time for some last minute sightseeing or souvenir shopping before you head to the airport to catch an onward flight or begin your journey back home. But if, after all this touring, you fancy a truly relaxing break you could always stay on for a few days more at one of the luxury hotels at Varadero, a short drive from Havana, where you can soak up the tropical sun.
