If you fancy a wonderful relaxing short break during a visit to Thailand's pulsating capital Bangkok then this three day visit to the tropical island of Koh Talu fits the bill perfectly. Koh Talu is located in Prachuab Khiri Khan Province, only a six hour drive from the big city and even closer to some of the famous Thai beach resorts and the crossing from the mainland takes just 15 minutes by speed boat. This small private island in the Gulf of Thailand is made up of forest, coconut farms and beach resorts and has three lovely bays.
Travel to Koh Talu
An early start from your hotel in Bangkok or the resorts of Cha Am or Hua Hin and drive to the pier in Bangsaphan for the boat trip to Talu. The journey in the Koh Talu Express Yacht takes around 25 minutes but the speedboat is faster. After checking in at your hotel the staff of the resort will give you a brief talk about what you can see and do on the island. Lunch at the Terrace Restaurant then relax and sunbathe on the beach. Tonight enjoy a seafood barbeque while watching a spectacular sunset. Overnight in either a Manila Deluxe Chalet or a Thai Style Ocean Villa.
After breakfast today you are taken to the island view point to get panoramic vistas of Koh Talu. After taking your photos you visit a coral museum. Return to your resort in time for lunch and the rest of the day is free for you to relax on the beach and soak up the sun or take part in activities such as kayaking or a snorkeling trip to either Krut Bay, picturesque Big Bay, Thien Bay or Sang Bay with an expert instructor. Return to the resort in the evening for another memorable dinner.
Koh Talu to Bangkok
Today is your last on this beautiful tropical island, so make the most of it. After breakfast the morning is free for you to spend more time on the beach or take part in one or more of the organised activities at the resort. Then enjoy a sumptuous lunch before you are picked up and taken back to the mainland where a private air conditioned car is waiting to take you back to your resort or Bangkok. This short relaxing island visit makes a great add on to any longer holiday in Thailand.
