Overview
Laos is a land of lotus eaters amid the often bloated development of its neighbours and brings together the very best of Southeast Asia in one bite sized destination. The country retains many of the traditions that have disappeared elsewhere in the region and there's a timeless quality to rural life as you will discover on this marvellous 10 day tour when you visit the capital Vientiane and magical Luang Prabang seeing so many of the iconic images.
Day 1
Arrive Chiang Rai
Your adventure begins in the north of Thailand when you arrive at Chiang Rai and are taken to your hotel to relax after the journey and have a briefing about all that you will be seeing and doing on the tour. The city is near the borders of Laos and Myanmar (formerly Burma) and you can go out and explore visiting the royal temple, the Navel City Pillar, a monument made of more than 100 Khmer-style pillars, Mae Fah Luang Art and the Cultural Park museum.
