General

Set directly on the beach, SALT of Palmar combines bold, modern design with a sense of Mauritian tranquillity. The friendly, local staff give it an upbeat, joyful atmosphere; it’s a wonderful place to relax and get to know the real Mauritius.

Spa

At SALT Equilibrium, a range of different salts are used to bring benefits to your respiratory system, skin, immunity and energy levels, as well as to reduce stress.

Room Description

There are 59 rooms, each with a supremely comfortable bed, rain shower and plenty of amenities to help you relax, including a yoga mat and free high-speed WiFi. Some rooms have direct beach or pool access, while others overlook the hotel’s attractive gardens

Activities

You can start the day with the sunrise run club, before joining in a packed programme of activities including swimming, hiking, Sega dancing and yoga classes. Hire a convertible and head off to explore the island, or borrow a bike and pedal off to the neighbouring villages, temples and market. You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to learn local skills such as pottery, fishing, basket weaving, cookery and musical instruments.

Dining

All the food here is based around the very freshest local ingredients, much of it grown in the on-site organic gardens, and prepared using traditional methods such as the tandoor oven and the charcoal grill.
