A great way to see the east coast of America and Canada is on this short but action packed cruise on Royal Caribbean's luxurious liner Brilliance of the Seas. Beginning and ending in the historic US city of Boston, you visit Portland and Bar Harbour in Maine, Saint John, New Brunswick and Halifax, Nova Scotia. You also have two full days at sea to relax and enjoy all the wonderful on board facilities.
Day 1
Before starting the cruise explore this historic city seeing iconic Fenway Park baseball stadium, home to the Boston Red Sox. Follow the Freedom Trail to discover Boston’s crucial role in American history or enjoy a pub crawl. Head for the 34 islands and peninsulas of the Boston Harbour Islands National Park to see old lighthouses, a Civil War-era fort, tide pools, hiking trails and wildlife. Then climb aboard a clipper to re-enact your own Boston Tea Party.

Day 2
Your first port of call in Portland. Here you can tour Maine's iconic lighthouses, including the famous Portland Head Light that guided ships to safety for two centuries. The grand interiors of Victoria Mansion showcase Portland’s Victorian heritage and the meticulously preserved Tate House Museum connects visitors to the city’s colonial past. Portland buzzes with exciting festivals throughout the year, devoted to music, arts, food, ships, the Old Port and beer.

Day 3
Bar Harbour
Plunge into the great outdoors at Bar Harbour and the Acadia National Park. With 55 miles of bike trails and the chance to rock climb, whale watch, kayak and hike, it’s a super adrenalin boost. See baby lobsters hatching out at the fascinating Mount Desert Island Oceanarium and Lobster Hatchery or discover Maine’s Native American history at the Abbe Museum. Try clam chowder, blueberry pie and lobster roll - delicious!

Day 4
Saint John
Browse the tempting stalls at the City Market, whose roof resembles the upturned keel of a ship. Be blown away by the amazing Reversing Rapids, where the Bay of Fundy’s high tides collide in spectacular fashion with the St. John River, or fly over the rapids on a zip-line. Check out the fascinating New Brunswick Museum for its Hall of Great Whales or try Nordic walking, geocaching, kayaking and mountain biking at Rockwood Park.

Day 5
At Sea
The first of two full days at sea on the cruise and a good time to get to know all that the Brilliance of the Seas has to offer. You can chill in the bar, lounge by the pool or enjoy a relaxing beauty treatment in the spa. For simple pleasures, why not try a game of table tennis? Or if you’re feeling energetic, now’s the chance to explore all the amazing on board activities from spectacular, West-End-style entertainment to adrenalin-charged sports.

Day 6
Experience life as a Victorian soldier, fire a rifle or listen to ghostly stories at the Citadel, Halifax’s premier historic landmark. Take in the amazing views from Point Pleasant Park, enjoying its cycling and hiking trails, or watch sunbathing seals from Duncan’s Cove. Sail in the stunning waters of Halifax harbour or take a surfing lesson at Lawrencetown beach. Beer, oysters and seafood are local specialities here in Nova Scotia..

Day 7
At Sea
You final day at sea on the cruise so relax and make the most if it. Food plays a big part in any cruise and on the Brilliance of the Seas there are lots of dining options you can choose from. Today you may want to pamper yourself with a beauty treatment or massage in the state of the art spa, take part in sports and deck games and in the evening enjoy special farewell cocktails in one of the bars before seeing a show in the main theatre.

Day 8
Today your super cruise north to Canada and back comes to an end when the Brilliance of the Seas arrives back into Boston. Say farewell to new found friends and possibly stay on for a few more days seeing more of this historic city before heading to the airport to catch an onward flight or begin your journey back home. There is so much to see and do in Boston with iconic sights and reminders of the city's historic past at every turn . . . and a visit to the famous original Cheers Bar is a must.
