The Vidamar Resort Madeira offers four spacious levels of accommodation all furnished with king, queen or large twin beds, a sofa, dining table, plasma TV and free Wi-Fi. They also have marble bathrooms with a bathtub, shower and twin wash basins, and come with balconies that overlook the hotel’s gardens across to the sea. Ocean view suites have a separate bedroom with a king bed and a deep-sleep pillow selection, and panoramic views of the sea and beyond. Family Superior Rooms offers 2 complete separate and private sleeping rooms, one with king size bed and other with twin beds, ideal for families.
Children will love the hotel’s Aquatica Kids Club which organises play and educational activities for different ages, as well as an exclusive children’s pool, so parents can relax knowing their kids are in safe hands. There’s also a well-equipped gym for adults who want to maintain their exercise regime, as well as over 20 different fitness classes on offer each week. The Hotel also offers squash and tennis courts, table tennis, billiards, indoor pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, Turkish bath and scuba diving school. All these activities are free of charge for our guests, except the scuba diving school. Further afield, there’s lots to explore on the island of Madeira, such as the UNESCO-protected Laurisilva laurel forest and the fascinating town of Funchal.
All rates include Half Board, with the Dine Around concept. Guests can sample around five different restaurants and gastronomies: Head to the Ocean Buffet Restaurant for all-day dining as well as dinner menus that feature several theme nights, such as Italian favourites, and Latin and American selections; the beachside portuguese Sabor a Mar restaurant offers light snacks and lunches as well as typical Portuguese dinner and a special kids’ menu; Mamma Mia Italian restaurant features a range of classic and regional Italian dishes; and the delicious Japanese dishes are on offer at the Koi Sushi Restaurant and the Madeira typical restaurant Casa das Espetadas where you can try the “espetada” and the “poncha” . There’s also the Lisboa Piano Bar for a pre-dinner cocktail.
