Set on the edge of the largest sand dunes in the world, overlooking the mighty expanse of the Atlantic Ocean in between Swakopmund and Walvis airport, is Burning Shore Beach Lodge. A modern and luxurious ocean-side lodge, it is located on Long Beach, just south of the unique quaint town of Swakopmund.
The Burning Shore offers seven spacious luxury rooms and five luxury suites, all of which have private bathroom facilities. Standard rooms vary from twins to doubles, and some are sea-facing. Suites are double rooms with varying facilities, including balconies, dressing rooms and lounge areas. A sumptuous honeymoon suite offers a private Jacuzzi.
Various day excursions from The Burning Shore can be arranged on request. These include visits to Sandwich Harbour, Bird Island, Walvis Bay Lagoon, the Moon Landscape, Dune Seven and marine safaris to Pelican Point Seal Colony as well as dolphin spotting. Guests can also enjoy horse trails, dune quad biking, fishing and scenic flights along the Skeleton Coast.
The Burning Shore has a luxurious 60-seater restaurant serving delicious cuisine, where guests can dine al fresco with direct access to the beach. There's also a cocktail bar - the perfect place for sipping a drink while taking in the beautiful surroundings.
