General
The 5-star Valamar President, located right on a Blue Flag beach and surrounded by sea on the Babin Kuk peninsula, has just had an extensive facelift. The result is striking. The hotel is 100km from Podgorica Airport and close to lots of local attractions, including the Old Town – to which there’s a regular public bus service.
Spa
The hotel has its own wellness and spa area, where you can work out or enjoy many different therapies, including signature treatments for two, facial masks, a 4-hand massage, ‘Marine body glow’ or hot chocolate exfoliation, as well as enjoying a Finnish or infa-red sauna, Turkish bath, Jacuzzi or Kneipp foot bath. There’s also a special ‘relax garden’ – the perfect antidote to stressful life.
Room Description
Every one of the 286 rooms and 6 suites has its own seaview terrace or balcony and all come with LCD satellite TV, wifi access, air-conditioning, robes and disposable slippers, luxury toiletries and minibar as standard. You can choose from a wide range of room types, including classic twin, romantic double, premium double or twin, superior family or a superior suite. There’s also a presidential suite. The family option has two interconnecting bedrooms , and some of the rooms provide thoughtful extras such as a coffee machine or extra toiletries
Activities
As well as the hotel’s own beach, which has a small pier and a natural shaded area for those who prefer to stay out of the sun, there’s a heated freshwater indoor pool and a new freshwater outdoor pool with sun terrace. Plus, the hotel has its own diving centre, which runs courses for all levels and offers diving excursions. There are also two other beaches nearby, with many different watersports on offer. Daily children’s activities are available at the Valamar President, as are a host of sports and activities – and there’s a tennis court within 400m. If you fancy a bit of sightseeing, the hotel can help with organising excursions – to, for example, Medugorje religious centre, a vineyard or Elaphiti islands – and arrange boat hire.
Dining
Guests can watch their food being prepared at the hotel’s ‘show’ restaurant then eat it on the terrace, which boasts lovely sea views. Some nights are themed and might focus on Croatian or Mediterranean dining, or cook up dishes with a more international flavour. There’s also a separate beach restaurant and in summer months it holds special fisherman’s nights. For a relaxing drink, you can try the aperitif or pool bars.
