Arrival Santiago Airport
Your tour begins as you’re met at Santiago Airport and transferred to your hotel. After you’ve checked in, you’ll enjoy a city tour of Santiago, starting at San Francisco Church, the country’s oldest colonial-era building, then heading to the Government Palace, La Moneda, and Plaza de Armas, where you’ll see important national monuments such as the Cathedral, Correo Central (main post office) and the Municipalidad de Santiago (City Hall). You’ll then continue to Santa Lucía Hill, where the city was founded in 1541. Finally, you’ll cross the Mapocho River and pass through several residential districts to get an overview of the city, before returning to your hotel.
Santiago - Valparaiso - Vina Del Mar - Santiago
After breakfast this morning you’ll set off for a journey towards the coast, via the stunning landscapes of the Curacaví and Casablanca valleys, as well as the Cordillera de la Costa mountain range. On arrival at Valparaíso, Chile’s main commercial port, you’ll visit La Sebastiana, the former home of Nobel Prize-winning poet Pablo Neruda. You’ll then take a scenic drive to take in the National Congress, Pedro Montt Avenue, the Italian Park, Victoria Square and the Cathedral, before continuing along the coast to Viña del Mar, known as the Garden City. In this attractive city you’ll have the chance to view places of interest including the Reloj Floral (Floral Clock), Wulff Castle, the Casino Municipal, Acapulco Beach and Muelle Vergara (Vergara Pier). Your tour then continues along the coast, passing the beaches at Las Salinas, Reñaca and Cochoa, before returning to Santiago.
Puerto Montt - Angelmo - Puerto Montt/Varas
This morning you’ll fly to Puerto Montt, where you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, you’ll take a city tour, starting with a visit to the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral, before heading to the top of Melipulli hill to take in the panoramic view of the port, Tenglo Island and the picturesque Bay of Reloncaví. You’ll then visit the beaches of Pelluco and Chinquihue, and the handicrafts market at Angelmó, before continuing to Puerto Varas, known as the City of Roses for its beautiful gardens. Tonight you’ll stay in a hotel in either Puerto Varas or Puerto Montt.
Puerto Montt or Puerto Varas
After breakfast this morning you have the whole day at leisure. You may like to take an excursion to the beautiful city of Frutillar, known for its black-sand beaches and charming German colonial buildings, or to Isla Chiloe, home to a Humboldt penguin breeding ground.
Puerto Montt/Varas - Lago - Todos Los Santos
After breakfast this morning you’ll take the Andean Crossing service to Peulla, driving along the edge of Lake Llanquihue to the Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, where you can take in the spectacular views of Osorno Volcano, the Saltos del Petrohué waterfalls, and Todos los Santos lake. You’ll sail across the beautiful emerald waters of this lake, surrounded by native forests, mountains, volcanoes and waterfalls, to the lakeside village of Peulla, where you’ll stay overnight.
Peulla - Bariloche
Today you’ll cross the Vicente Pérez Rosales border point into Argentina, heading up to Lake Frías, from where you’ll sail to Puerto Blest. After a short bus ride, you’ll take to the water again, sailing across Lake Nahuel Huapi to Puerto Pañuelo. From here you’ll continue by bus to Bariloche by bus, where you’ll stay overnight.
Bariloche - Isla Huemul - Llao Llao - Buenos Aires
After breakfast this morning you’ll enjoy a half-day tour of Bariloche, including Playa Bonita, from where you can enjoy the views out to Huemul Island. Later, you’ll visit Campanario hill, where you can, if you wish, take the chair lift to the summit to enjoy the views. Your tour then continues on to the Llao-Llao Peninsula, to see Puerto Pañuelo, crossing the bridge to La Angostura, which links Lakes Moreno, Nahuel-Huapi and López Bay, and arriving at Punto Panorámico, a natural balcony with views over Lake Moreno and the Llao-Llao Peninsula. In the afternoon you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires, where you’ll be transferred to your hotel and will have the evening at leisure.
This morning you’ll tour the city of Buenos Aires, beginning at the impressive National Congress and Plaza de Mayo, surrounded by the Government House (Casa Rosada), the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Cabildo, the colonial city hall. You’ll also visit the Teatro Colón, one of the world’s best-known opera houses, before heading to the Barrio San Telmo and La Boca, home to the city’s first Italian immigrants, and renowned for its colourful architecture. Next, you’ll head to the residential neighborhood of Palermo, known for its, before a trip to Recoleta, the city’s most exclusive district. Here you’ll visit the cemetery which is the final resting place of Evita, and have a chance to explore the elegant boutiques, gourmet restaurants and pavement cafés set under the shade of rubber trees. In the evening you’ll have dinner at a traditional restaurant, accompanied by a tango show.
