Overview
If you have already travelled around India or feel that you want a relaxing holiday in one of the world's lesser known exotic destinations, then this eight day trip is ideal. The Andaman Islands are an Indian archipelago in the Bay of Bengal. The 300 islands are known for their palm-lined, white-sand beaches, mangroves and tropical rain forests. Coral reefs supporting marine life such as sharks and rays make for popular diving and snorkeling sites. And you will be staying at Havelock Island, one of the best of them.
Day 1
Arrival at Chennai
On arrival at Chennai you will be met by one of our tour representatives and taken to your hotel in the city. Chennai, on the Bay of Bengal in eastern India, is the capital of the state of Tamil Nadu. The city is home to Fort St. George, built in 1644 and now a museum showcasing the city’s roots as a British military garrison and East India Company trading outpost, when it was called Madras. Religious sites include Kapaleeshwarar Temple and St. Mary’s, a 17th-century Anglican church.

Day 2
Chennai – Port Blair
This morning after breakfast you are picked up from your hotel and taken back to the airport for your flight to Port Blair. There you are taken to board a ferry for the two hour journey to Havelock Island. When you land at the island another tour representative will be waiting with a glass of refreshing coconut water. You will then be taken to your selected hotel at beautiful Radhanagar Beach, rated by Time Magazine as the best beach in Asia.

Day 3
Havelock
The first of your four full days on this paradise island. Havelock Island is part of Ritchie’s Archipelago and is known for its dive sites and beaches, like Elephant Beach, with its coral reefs. Crescent-shaped Radhanagar Beach is a popular spot for watching the sunset. On the island’s east side, rocky sections mark long, tree-lined Vijaynagar Beach. The island's forested interior is home to bird life such as white-headed mynas and woodpeckers.

Day 4
Havelock Island
Another day to relax on the beach or go exploring. Havelock Island, considered one of the best and most beautiful of the Andaman Islands, has so many palm fringed white-sand beaches that you are spoilt for choice. But Radhanagar Beach, where you stay, is by far the most famous and popular. All sorts of water sports are available and there are great opportunities for scuba diving and snorkelling on the colourful reefs.

Day 5
Havelock Island
While staying on Havelock Island you are surrounded by natural beauty. The interior rain forest is great to explore either on your own or on an organised tour and if you ever tire of the delights of Radhanagar Beach, which is highly unlikely, you can cross to the east coast of the island and experience Vijaynagar Beach which is popular with nature lovers. Kanapather Beach is another hot spot and one of the island's big attractions is the underwater walk.

Day 6
Havelock Island
The last of your full days on Havelock Island so make the most of it. There is so much to see and do on this island that there will be plenty of things to keep you occupied. Now may be a good time to explore one or more of the hidden gems or go shopping for souvenirs. And, of course, as you are travelling tomorrow it's probably worth heading to the beach and soaking up the sun making sure you arrive home with a lovely tan.

Day 7
Havelock – Chennai
Today you say farewell to the beauty of Radhanagar beach and begin your return journey to Chennai. Possibly time for a last swim or snorkel before you are picked up from your hotel and taken to catch the ferry to Port Blair where you will be met and driven to the airport. On arrival at Chennai you will be greeted by one of our tour representatives and taken to your hotel where you can relax after the journey or go out and explore more of the city.

Day 8
End of tour
This morning, depending on your flight, there may be time for some more sightseeing or shopping in Chennai before you are picked up from your hotel and driven to the airport to begin your journey home. This relaxing break on the stunning Andaman Islands makes for a truly wonderful holiday and is perfect for those who have already explored India and seen all the sights and are seeking something a little different.
