If you are visiting Australia it's well worth spending three days and nights cruising around the beautiful Whitsunday Islands. Your trip is on board the Whitsunday Blue, a stylish, fully air-conditioned 41 foot "Lagoon" sailing catamaran designed for a luxury stable experience and offers comfort, privacy and style for couples seeking an exciting adventure sailing experience. The catamaran is designed for comfort and function and has four double cabins each with en-suite toilet, handbasin and shower facilities.
Your adventure begins when you arrive at Abel Point Marina at Queensland's Airlie Beach where you are welcomed aboard your magnificent catamaran by the skipper and hostess. After a vessel briefing, sail off to explore the very best the Whitsundays have to offer. Cruise across turquoise waters arriving at stunning Cid Harbour to watch the sunset. Enjoy pre dinner drinks and meet new friends while your hostess prepares your first sumptuous feast. After your meal, enjoy the skipper's tales and learn the history of the Whitsunday Islands.
Today you visit the vast silica sands of magnificent Whitehaven Beach and see why it is rated the most beautiful in the world. Wading through crystal clear waters over brilliant fine white sand is an experience never to be forgotten and another highlight of this Whitsunday Blue cruise. Swim, snorkel or laze on the beach then, after a superb smorgasbord lunch, visit one of the many sensational islands fringed by a stunning coral reef. Then your palatial craft drifts gently up Nara Inlet for a peaceful evening in this tropical rock fjord on Hook Island.
After breakfast explore the inlet by dinghy or take the famous walk past ancient aboriginal cave drawings to one of Naras highest peaks. At the right time of year, a sparkling waterfall cascades from rock pools to the waters below. It's then off around the corner to spectacular Langford reef where you can swim among the marine life with the playground of the rich and famous, Hayman Island, before you. Then sail to your evening destination around the Macona Inlets and watch the sunset as you lounge in the foredeck nets sipping a chilled cocktail.
The final day of your wonderful Whitsundays cruise so make the most of it. After breakfast on board relax in the sun and top up that tan or enjoy some more swimming or snorkelling in the clear blue waters around the catamaran before setting sail back to Airlie Beach. This short but memorable cruise makes a great add on to any longer holiday Down Under and is perfect for visitors to Queensland or travellers heading up to tropical Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef.
Dave and team were as helpful as ever. Flight times and waiting times all worked very well and good seats too. Many thanks - I'll call you again.
