Las Vegas

4 best restaurants in Las Vegas

Our favourite places to eat. Enjoy awesome food and stunning decor

1 Le Cirque

The Circus is in town

Le Cirque is no side show. It’s the real deal. Trumpeting its thirteenth consecutive year AAA Five Diamond, this colourful Vegas legend is the ringmaster of French cuisine. The ingenuity – and sheer deliciousness – of its menu deserves the applause. From langoustines with caviar to raisin brioche with foie gras and white chocolate, this restaurant, like a skilled tightrope walker, never puts a foot wrong. And the décor is divine too. You dine under a bright and colourful big top.

2 Honey Salt

Home from home

It’s not all glitz and air-kisses in Vegas! Inspired by the meals a couple shared in their home with their loved ones, Honey Salt is a restaurant devoted to family, friends and community. The menu balances life in the desert with the unique ingredients regionally available. There’s also a fun kiddies menu, cocktails for the grown-ups and yummy dessert for everyone! Our fave was the brick oven chicken – and, without a doubt, the very warm, very genuine welcome.

3 Picasso

Food raised to an art form

Welcome to one of the few restaurants where you can dine with an original Picasso next to your table! Even better, the food is as unique as the artwork. French cuisine cooked by a Spanish chef in an Italian-themed hotel in Vegas. That’s some combination – but it’s priceless, having received 13 AAA Fine Dining Awards, and offering up such masterpieces as roasted Maine lobster with a trio of corn. Better yet, your meal is framed by a choice of 1,500 wines in the cellar.

4 Cut

Calling all culinary carnivores

Being named one of the top three steakhouses in America is no small honour in a country renowned for its love of meat. But CUT has raised the bar within the fine dining industry. The beef is dry-aged for weeks, absorbing maximum flavour and character. But it's not just a great steak that’s on offer, the salads, seafood and desserts are just as impeccable. The downside, notes one local critic, is that you'll never visit your local steakhouse again without feeling let down. We can live with that.

3 hottest bars in Las Vegas

Don't miss these awesome cocktail bars. The hottest places to unwind after dark

1 Minus5 Ice Bar

They don't come cooler

What better way to cool off in the desert than by popping into an ice bar? Don't worry, you won’t freeze to death. Patrons are given warms jackets, gloves and boots to enter this winter wonderland. Inside, everything is fashioned from ice: the bar, the walls, the sculptures, the seats and even the glasses! You can warm yourself up further with a few vodka-based cocktails. Always popular, it's an experience not to be missed.

2 Rockhouse

Ultra playground on the Strip

Rockhouse is one of the hottest spots in town. Spread over 9,000ft, there's plenty of action packed inside. For starters, a giant cage, with dancing girls. Further in, there's a labyrinth with two rooms, three bars, an elevated DJ booth, beer pong tables and a mechanical bull. As if that's not enough entertainment, there are 83 flat screen TV's playing all sorts of sport, a leopard-print billiards table and even a foosball game. To drink, choose a signature cocktail off their "Tales of Cock" menu!

3 Double Down Saloon

Clubhouse for the lunatic fringe

Vegas brims with seedy watering holes but this isn’t your run-of-the-mill dive bar. For starters, it never closes. The walls are adorned with hedonistic murals of sheer debauchery and the signature drink is something called Ass Juice. The crowd is friendly though, a good mix of tourists, bikers, bums, bohemians and off-duty bartenders. Known locally as the Happiest Place on Earth, the Double Down Saloon is a great place for a bit of Anti-Vegas. Expect the unexpected.
