Air France Business Class superb on all legs, long & short haul. Service superb, lounges excellent. It's how travel used to be. Hotel in Bora Bora generally good, let down by a handful of service related issues.

Located on sundrenched Motu Piti Aau, a long flat islet off Bora Bora's east coast, the luxury Intercontinental Bora Bora Resort and Thalasso Spa has won awards for treatments in the Deep Ocean Spa, the most stunning in French Polynesia. The resort's spectacular location and views are breathtaking, and well worth the journey.
Spa
The Deep Ocean Spa at the Intercontinental Bora Bora offers areas for hydrotherapy, beauty care and gentle energy. Overwater bungalows allow you to watch tropical marine life swim past as you enjoy a massage, either alone or as a couple. Outdoor spas, jet showers, steam baths and relaxation areas will awaken the senses for a purely indulgent experience.
Room Description
Two piers lead to the guest bungalows at the Intercontinental Bora Bora, all standing over the shallow lagoon. Largest are three villa suites, each with two bedrooms and bathrooms and full kitchens. The other 87 units are almost identical and priced according to view, those directly facing Bora Bora being the most expensive. These have separate living rooms, bedrooms with super king beds, and bathrooms with tubs with lagoon views.
Activities
The main building at the Intercontinental Resort and Thalasso Spa opens onto a rectangular swimming pool with infinity edge. Guests can also use complimentary kayaks, canoes and snorkelling gear in the lagoon, or pay for diving, snorkelling trips and lagoon and island excursions. A tennis court and air-conditioned gym are great for a workout before heading to the spa. Guests here can transfer to the InterContinental Bora Bora Le Moana Resort on Matira Beach - the sole public beach on the island.
Dining
Largest of the dining outlets at the Intercontinental Bora Bora is Reef, casually serving breakfast and lunch and then turning to more formal dining at dinner. Here guests will find buffets and Tahitian dance shows two nights a week. Romantic gourmet dining is on offer either indoors or outdoors at Le Corail, while Sands Restaurant serves lunch and dinner with an Asian influence.
