You join your Hobbiton Movie Set Tours guide at The Shire's Rest, 501 Buckland Road, Matamata. This essential stop for every Lord of the Rings fan allows a visit to the actual Hobbiton village from the movie trilogies. The tour starts with a drive through a 1,250 acre working sheep farm. The Hobbit Holes, Green Dragon Inn, Mill and other structures created for the films can then be viewed.

Overlooking Lake Rotorua, this famous spa’s deluxe hot mineral bathing and relaxation area has four alkaline rock pools, each with different temperatures (36°C to 42°C) and you are surrounded by native flora, natural rocks, and the energising sight and sound of two waterfalls and a grotto.
