La Vina Del Ensanche
Perfect for pinchos
Don’t pass up on the pinchos at La Viña del Ensanche, with its classic local atmosphere in a fantastic location in the heart of Bilbao. As it has been serving tapas for over 80 years, it is the city’s go-to for specialities like octopus tapas and Iberian pork cheek. What’s more, both drinks and food are reasonably priced - be sure to try the carina wine, served with cubes of cured ham or tuna.

Rio Oja
Secret treasure
Weave your way through the streets of the Old Town to Rio Oja for a taste of local charm. Fresh ingredients are the focus of simple yet strong dishes from the Basque region, with unusual meats such as snails and sheep brains making an appearance on the menu. But cazuelitas (delicious stews served in tapas-sized portions) are the main draw, and are best enjoyed alongside the highly recommended house wines.
