A visit to Tinos has become something of a pilgrimage, a virtual act of faith, for anyone staying in Mykonos. This island, some 45 minutes away by ferry, is home to one of the most famous and sacred churches in Greece, the Panagia Evangelistria, an awe-inspiring shrine atop a hill dominating Tinos town. This Renaissance-style church has been associated with miracles and wondrous deeds.

Then head to the quaint, whitewashed monastery of Kechrovouni, before continuing to the majestic mountain of Exomvourgo, with its castle ruins. Then stop at the gorgeous little hamlet of Volax, famous for its basket makers, before heading back to the pretty fishing village of Panormos. Final stop on the tour is the marble-producing hilltop village of Pyrgos. You return to Mykonos at around 10pm.
