There are also beautiful butterflies such as the Blue Morpho and some mammals such as the sloth, agoutis and howler monkeys.

Throughout this four hour hike you can see amazing animals including Howler and white-faced monkeys, the three-wattled bellbird, and the ever fascinating quetzal.

If you've always been fascinated by reptiles and their mysterious ways, you cannot leave Monteverde without visiting Snake World. With a high number of endemic species, 15 of which are poisonous, you will be able to learn a lot at this popular reptile zoo. At Snake World visitors of all ages also have a chance to learn more about the specific type of flora and fauna in Costa Rica.

All terrariums have controlled climate, providing a better environment for each type of snake according to each of their needs. Throughout this one hour tour, you will see both poisonous and non-poisonous snakes, such as boas, red tailed coral snake, false corals, eyelash palm pit viper, zopilote, neo tropical rattlesnakes, mica, and of course, the fer de lance and mute rattle, the country's most deadly reptile.
