Georgetown City Explorer
A great trip, by George
Georgetown, the capital of Penang and named after King George III of England, is an interesting blend of old and new and is listed by UNESCO as a world heritage city. It has a great range of arts and culture and is definitely not a place to miss when visiting the island of Penang. On this tour you stop first at the famous Golden reclining Bhudda, which is one of the largest in Asia.
This is followed by a visit to the heritage zone and it's many photo opportunities including Fort Cornwallis and the famous Clan Jetty where houses are built on stilts over the water and still occupied today. Then take a slow drive along the famous Street of Harmony to see local street life and the many houses of worship.

Penang Heritage Walking Tour
Walk through history
Start this Penang tour at St. George’s Church, the oldest Anglican Church in Southeast Asia. Then continue on to the Goddess of Mercy Temple, passing through colourful stalls where flower garlands are made and then visit Pinang Peranakan Mansion for a tour and see some of the thousands of antiques and collectible items on display.
Then walk pass King Street, cut into Market Street and arrive at some spice shops where you discover everything about the various spices and how to use them in traditional cooking. From here you travel on to the final stop which is the Khoo Kongsi - a large Chinese clanhouse with elaborate and highly ornate architecture and a mark of the dominant presence of the Chinese in Penang.

There is so much to see and do when visiting Penang and this hill and temple tour will probably be one of the highlights of your visit.
