We missed our connecting flight from Beijing to Chengdu due to the rigorous security checks and long, long queues. It was a holiday weekend in China which made the airport in Beijing extremely busy. The 90 minute turn around that we had was not long enough and we only had hand luggage too! Got put on a flight two hours later but only after lots of hassle and more queues and having to go through security again. Need a longer turnaround time particularly if it’s a public holiday weekend.
