The Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve is renowned for its conservation efforts in saving the white rhino from extinction and you will learn all about this and other projects during your visit.

After an early morning departure from Durban you travel for around three hours to the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve where you spend the rest of the day watching for the aninals on a memorable safari. Enjoy lunch in the game park and return to Durban in the late afternoon. You must have at least one safari experience while visiting South Africa and this full day tour is a great start.

Get to know the city

This fascinating tour is dedicated to the discovery of the many cultural and historical contrasts of this cosmopolitan South African city where east really does meet west. First you are driven along Durban's distinctive beachfront, known as the Golden Mile, past the beautiful art-deco buildings and Ushaka Marine World to The Point, which is at the harbour entrance.

Then drive along Victoria Embankment and through the heart of the city past buildings of historical significance such as the Natal Museum, City Hall and the Play House Theatre. Visit the colourful and lively Victoria Street Market which is always filled with the aromas of Indian spices. Experience the magnificent Drakensberg Mountains and spectacular scenery as you wind your way up the historic Sani Pass and into Lesotho - land of the 'People of the Blanket'. After an early morning pick up from your Durban hotel, travel inland past Pietermaritzburg and through the Natal Midlands. On arrival at the foothills of the Southern Drakensberg you change to a 4x4 vehicle.
