Go on safari

One must thing to do when on holiday in Kenya is to take at least one safari. And you won't have to travel far out of Nairobi to experience the fun and excitement of a game drive seeing so much of the wonderful wildlife. For just eight miles out of the city centre is Nairobi National Park, which is the country's oldest park and one that is small enough for you to guarantee lots of animal encounters.

Established around 1946, it’s a real contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city. With more than 500 varieties of birds recorded and more than 100 mammal species, it makes for a great early morning or afternoon’s game drive. Common sightings include zebra, giraffe, buffalo, ostrich, gazelle, eland, hippo, vulture and lion. This is also a great place to see the rare black rhino.
