Island Hopping - Athens, Rhodes & Kos

Description

Greece has always been regarded as the cradle of civilisation, and on this wonderful tour, which begins and ends in the capital city Athens, you get to appreciate just why. As well as visiting all the ancient and historic sites in the city you will enjoy a great adventure going island hopping to Rhodes and then Kos during which you will have plenty of time to relax in the sun.

Day 1
Arrive Athens

Your driver will be waiting for you at Athens airport to take you to your hotel in the city. Athens is the historical capital of Europe and over the years a multitude of conquerors occupied the city and erected unique, splendid monuments. In 1834, it became the capital of the Modern Greek state and in two centuries since it has become an attractive modern metropolis with unrivalled charm. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to relax or explore on your own.

Day 2
Athens - Rhodes

After breakfast at your city hotel it's time to leave the capital and begin your islands adventure. One of our tour representatives will pick you up and drive you to the airport for your short flight to Rhodes, the capital of the Dodecanesse Complex of Islands. On arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel and the rest of the day and evening is free for you to explore on your own. Overnight in Rhodes.

Day 3
Rhodes

Today is free for you to explore the island at your own pace. There is so much to see and experience in Rhodos, so there won't be a dull moment. With 2,400 years of history and culture that left imprints all over the island, an impeccable natural beauty and a great variety of landscapes, with modern infrastructure and cosmopolitan atmosphere, Rhodes can suit any taste. Visit the Palace of the Knights, walk around the narrow streets in the Medieval Town or taste some of the local specialities.

Day 4
Rhodes

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel in Rhodes then another day of leisure awaits when you can discover other aspects of this beautiful island. There are a number of optional tours available today including excursions to Lindos with its picturesque streets and beautiful beach, or Kallithea with its springs. Another must see while on the island is the Valley with Butterflies. Overnight in Rhodes.

Day 5
Rhodes - Kos

Possibly time for some more sightseeing or shopping for souvenirs after breakfast this morning before having to say farewell to Rhodes. You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to the island's port to board your ferry to the nearby holiday island of Kos. On arrival you will be met and taken to your next hotel then the rest of the day and evening is free for you to explore on your own.

Day 6
Kos

After breakfast at your hotel the rest of the day is free for you to explore and discover the beauties of this island, known as the place of healing and teaching of medicine in antiquity. Again you can take an organised tour around the island seeing all the sights or, if you prefer, relax on one of the many lovely beaches and soak up the sun.

Day 7
Kos - Athens

Make the most of your time on Kos by seeing more of the sights or buying souvenirs before being picked up from your hotel and driven to the island's airport to catch the short flight back to Athens. On arrival in the capital you will be collected from the airport and driven to your city hotel and the rest of the day and evening you are free to go sightseeing on your own, possibly visiting the world famous Acropolis, and dining in one of the many excellent restaurants nearby.

Day 8
Depart Athens

Today your wonderful island hopping tour comes to an end. Possibly time for some more sightseeing or last minute shopping in the capital city before being picked up from your hotel and driven to the airport to catch an onward flight or begin your journey back home having seen so many of the wonders that make up the country's ancient heritage and enjoyed a relaxing time on the island beaches.

Thank you for recommending and booking Pefkos Village for us - we absolutely loved it. Lovely clean beautiful place to stay. The location was around a 20 minute walk to the main resort but we enjoyed the walk.

Just to let you know, everything that DAF did was fine, but the boarding for the Monarch flight at Manchester was chaotic!

Lucas great as always. The hotel was fantastic, best we have ever stayed in. The easyJet flight was awful, the worst seats I've ever sat on in a plane. I can't believe they get away with such thin padded seats that you can't recline.

Only problem was that our pick up when we were due to depart didn't let us know the time we were being collected from the hotel. I had to contact them the day before. Would have been nice to have had an email or text letting us know the time

As a family we have been to this location before and with the help of Nathan we were even able to secure the exact room we wanted at the hotel. Booking was easy and I felt confident that everything was as I wanted it to be. Once holiday was booked I wasn't ignored because I received the occasional telephone call to check all was OK - reinforcing my confidence. Very competitively priced and with the personal touch will encourage me to use DialAFlight again and recommend to others

Everything went to plan - no problems at all.

|
Flew to Rhodes Town

All the arrangements made by DialAFlight were first class. However, flying with Iberia was definitely a second rate experience. Our return flight from Seville to Madrid was cancelled without explanation or apology, which meant a five hour wait at the airport (just within the period before the compensation regulations kick in). The subsequent check-in and boarding arrangements at both Seville and Madrid were chaotic, and the in-flight service from Madrid was non-existent. I won't be flying Iberia again.

All went very smoothly - as always Kylie had it well organised and everything went according to plan.
