The best hotel swimming pools in Las Vegas

Las Vegas captures the essence of "bright lights, big city," providing visitors with dozens of different shows alongside the opportunity to try their luck at table games and slots, in Las Vegas hotels so luxurious they seem to drip with decadence. This focus on fun and elegance extends beyond the casino floor however, with many tourists choosing holidays in Las Vegas on the strength of the swimming pools that dot this desert oasis. Mandalay Bay Beach The best pool complex in the city is located at the Mandalay Bay Resort. Known as Mandalay Bay Beach, these pools occupy 11 acres sculpted to look like a real seaside, complete with almost 3,000 tons of authentic beach sand. Here, guests can float along a lazy river or try body surfing in a wave pool. Cabanas and daybeds are available, as are beachside villas that provide both privacy and personal service. The Garden of the Gods Pools Located at Caesar's Palace, these pools echo the hotel itself, surrounding guests with Greco-Roman statuary and palatial splendour. The Apollo Pool faces southwest to soak up the desert sun, while the Fortuna Pool features swim-up blackjack. The most unusual pool here is the newly opened "Chocolate Pool," officially dubbed the Sokolati Pool, which features a chocolate waterfall and three acres of literally sweet swimming. Liberal scatterings of cabanas and daybeds complete this picture of relaxing luxury. The Flamingo The pool complex at the Flamingo is a tropical paradise nestled into 15 acres on the Strip. Lagoons and a waterfall connect the various pools together, and a seasonal waterslide is certain to amuse both the young and the young at heart. Lifeguards keep watch over the swimmers here and pool attendants roam the grounds seeing to the refreshment needs of guests. The Monte Carlo The lazy river at this pool complex is hundreds of feet long, and there are four pools in all, including one equipped with realistic wave action to mimic the seashore. On weekends, the complex adopts a "beach party" theme complete with a sand volleyball competition and live DJs playing a variety of music from the golden oldies to the most recent hits. Room service here extends to the pool so that guests can indulge themselves at the party all day long. The Tropicana This casino is themed as a Polynesian resort, with the pool completing the image of a South Pacific paradise. The main pool features a central island complete with foliage, a perfect place to stretch out and relax after an invigorating swim through cool crystal waters. Here, guests can take advantage of not just swim-up gambling but also a swim-up bar, relaxing on submerged stools as they sip margaritas or enjoy a glass of fine wine. Free casino shuttles mean that tourists arriving on Las Vegas flights need not worry about ground transport to these hotels and their magnificent pools.
