Tourists planning to visit Tenerife next month will be able to take advantage of some of the unique events set to take place in April. Next month will mark the 50th anniversary of The Beatles first visit to Tenerife, as well as being the Tegueste Wine Month.
The Liverpudlian super-band had their first holiday as a group in Tenerife back in 1963. They visited Puerto de la Cruz to celebrate the release of their debut album Please Please Me 50 years ago and the Canary Island is planning to celebrate the anniversary with a host of music events and documentaries.
Starting on the 27th April, Tenerife will celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Beatles' first visit with a 13 day event. Visitors can expect to see live performances from cover bands, forums and lectures on the band, street markets, and documentary films, that will be shown around the island, celebrating the history of the band.
The Tegueste Wine Month will also take place in April, bringing fine wine and food to the streets of Tenerife. During the month people will be able to enjoy a range of wine and food tasting sessions as well as street markets, concerts and workshops around the north of the island in Teguesta. Visitors to the island will also be able to take part in several wine and tapas tours taking place throughout the month of April.
April Wine Month will take place until the 15th May and will include 23 local bars and restaurants. The event takes place every year and is hosted by the Association of Tegueste, Tegueste Wine Association and the Farmer’s Market and Artisan’s Village.
