Rugby World Cup: Try a Great Aussie Trip!

The Rugby World Cup continues today, with one of the pre-tournament favourites Australia in action at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium. A match in England's pool, the home nation will be hoping for a Fijian upset to further their own chances of taking the top spot. With England out of action until Friday, we're going to try and convince the Aussies that they'll prefer life back on home soil. Well, it's worth a try, surely?

There are few better places to see in Australia than the south-west coast, home to Sydney, Melbourne and then Adelaide via the famous Great Ocean Road. Miles and miles of unbeatable coastal views await those who chose to drive this remarkable route that takes you from one great city, to another.

Beginning in Sydney and ending in Adelaide, this great 14 night tour of all the highlights of the South East Coast of Australia is a real winner. Your opening days will have you visiting a selection of coastal towns, including the picturesque Narooma and the fishing hub of Bermagui. Proceed to Merimbula, the jewel of the Sapphire Coast, with it's exceptional climate and fabulous beaches making it a more than enjoyable stopover.

Then it's on to discover the rich natural beauty in the area. Head to Lakes Entrance and venture along the popular walking tracks at Snowy River National Park, or take to the water with a canoe ride down the river. Alternatively, get a fantastic view of Errinundra National Park's lush greenery as you take to the raised walking platforms dissecting the park and explore the stunning rainforest.

It is also here that you'll be presented with the chance of meeting some of the area's incredible wildlife including: koalas, kangaroos, wombats and dolphins. You'll feel spoilt for choice to discover that the incredible Ninety Mile Beach is but a walk away, a place to come an relax with pristine beach stretching in both directions as far as the eye can see.

You'll see scenic waterfalls, beautiful bays and miles of stunning golden beaches as you go before you travel the famous Great Ocean Road. Hugging the coastline throughout, you’ll find world famous surf beaches and beautiful scenery along the way. Pass through the historic towns of Ballarat and Robe after you pay the majestic Twelve Apostles a visit and be amazed by the sheer beauty of this self-drive holiday.
