Of course, there’s much to do in Florida aside from the theme parks, and the balmy beaches in the Sunshine State draw in hundreds of thousands every year. Famous for its many micro islands and the popular keys, Florida’s beaches are some of the best in the Unites States.
Siesta Beach is the ideal sandy destination, surrounded by warm, clear waters and drenched in sun. Found on Siesta Key, a barrier island situated between Roberts Bay and the Gulf or Mexico, many would argue that if you had to visit just one beach while in Florida it should be Siesta Beach.
For great views and luxury, a stay on Marco Island will not disappoint. You’ll find excellent restaurants, pristine beaches and wonderful hotels and villas on this island but be sure to steer clear of Marco Island between June and October, as that is when it is in its wet season.
Breezy and beautiful Captiva Island in southwest Florida is a great alternative beach destination. Thought to have been a favourite with pirates, this island has a history that will excite the whole family and beaches that are just perfect for unwinding and soaking up the Florida sun.
