The Italian city Treviso is preparing to host a four month festival celebrating all things Italian. Primavera del Prosecco will kick off in March in the Italian province and will continue until June.
Locals and tourists are expected to come together during this festival season to celebrate the many aspects of Italy. On offer will be a vast selection of food, wine and most importantly,prosecco. Art, culture and sport will also be celebrated. Around 15 wine exhibitions are set to take place over the four month period in Valdobbiadene to Conegliano, where visitors will be able to sample some of Italy’s most prized sparkling wines such as Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore.
Primavera del Prosecco is also a chance to sample some less heard of wines and offers locals a chance to showcase their produce. Events will go on each weekend over the four months offering great family days out with music and food also available.
Other events taking place in Treviso in March include the Treviso Marathon on the third. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the marathon the race will start in three different locations in the Veneto region in northern Italy. All three routes will meet at the 23 kilometre mark where the runners will join to finish the race in the city centre of Treviso. Those who fancy running in the marathon still have a chance to enter as entries close on 24th February.
Primavera de Prosecco will kick off on the 16th March 2013 and carry on until the summer in June.
