Denmark gets ready for Wondercool 2013

Preparations are in action as Denmark’s capital city, Copenhagen, gets ready for Wondercool 2013. The third annual festival will see cultural events take place across the whole city.

The Wondercool festival celebrates all forms of culture and will include food events and stalls, fashion shows, musical performances, art and design exhibitions and celebrations of architecture. Events will be hosted by a range of organisations including The Copenhagen Jazz festival, Copenhagen Cooking, the National Gallery of Denmark, the Danish Architecture Centre, the Copenhagen Fashion Festival and the Design Museum Denmark.

Wondercool will also host the music festival FROST, a festival where a selection of top international and Danish names hold a series of concerts in unusual locations. Bands in this year's line up include Elektro Guzzi, who will perform at the Zoological Museum and Efterklang, who will perform at the Dieselhouse in the south harbour. Previous locations the FROST festival has used include churches, strip clubs and museums, and with many locations unannounced, this year could see even bigger surprises.

Food lovers will be treated to an array of cooking events, from pop-up restaurants that incorporate design, music and architecture to gastronomic boat safaris, offering passengers a bountiful selection of sea food, all at low and fair prices. Those interested in Danish architecture will have the rare chance to go ‘behind the scenes’ of some of the country’s cutting-edge architectural studios.

Wondercool kicks off this year festivities with the Copenhagen Fashion Festival, starting the 27th April, and will run all the way through to 18th February.
