Full Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Panama City

On arrival one of our tour representatives will pick you up at the airport and take you to your city hotel for your first night in Panama. Panama City is the capital and largest city in the country. It is home to a diverse blend of cultures and an enormous historical sector in the Old City. The lively and vibrant banking district on the other hand is very modern and often compared to Miami. Panama City is a thrilling introduction to this gorgeous country.

Day 2: Half Day tour of Panama City and Miraflo

In the morning your guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you on a private tour of the city and the Miraflores Locks. You will see the huge vessels passing through the canal and ships getting lifted or lowered 18 meters in two distinct steps. Visit the museum and visitor centre at Miraflores which tells you all about the canal's construction. Later travel to the Amador Causeway, a road that connects three Islands in the Pacific Ocean and offers magnificent views of the canal and the skyline of Panama City. Continue to the Casco Viejo, the city’s colonial quarter, to admire the lovely houses and impressive churches.

Then take a short hike to a beautiful waterfall in the rain forest. Enjoy this tropical paradise and swim in the refreshing pool beneath the waterfall. Next stop is the village of the Embera Indians, one of seven indigenous tribes in Panama. They will welcome you and show how they still live today. Here you stay for two nights at the charming family guest house Park Eden, which is surrounded by lush green gardens.

Day 6: El Valle to Pedasi

A good day today to linger south-west down the Azuero Peninsula in Los Santos Province. This region is the folkloric heart of Panama. The locals have a passion for what they call, "cultura tipica". Here they stitch the national costume - brightly coloured, multi-layered, ruffled skirts, - and make the myriad hued papier-mache masks worn at festivals. This is an arid cowboy ranching region edged by empty Pacific beaches. Stay for two nights in the centre of Pedasi, at the lovely colonial style Casita Margarita.

Day 7: Azuero Peninsula

After all the travelling and excitement, today is free for you to chill out on the beaches of the stunning Azuero Peninsula. If you are still feeling energetic, however, you can book an optional snorkeling tour to Isla Iguana, take out a kayak out and explore the mangrove swamps, or watch the amazing sight of turtles nesting on Isla Cañas.
