5 best restaurants in Larnaca
Our favourite places to eat. Enjoy awesome food and stunning decor.
1.
Zephyros
Seafood to savour
Recommended by locals and boasting a southerly seafront location, Zephyros is the prime place for fresh seafood. Consistent in great quality and value, fish is cooked to order and accompanied by chips and mixed spring greens. Choose anything from sea bream to squid, taramasalata and meze, and sample the local wines. Sea views are a bonus, as is attentive service in this busy venue. The Cypriot president was recently spotted eating here so you know it’s good!

Aldente Cucina Italiana
For the best Italian in town
For a totally Italian experience, head to this easily accessible restaurant located on the beautiful beachfront of Phinikoudes. Watch the waves roll in from an outdoor table as you select your starter, salad and crispy pizza or perfectly al dente pasta, and wash it down with a classic Italian beer. A good wine list also offers a range of reds and whites to accompany the generous portions, while desserts are a feast you won’t want to miss.

To Kazani
Classic Cypriot and a cauldron
Take a journey through Cypriot history at the traditional To Kazani restaurant. Its authentic surroundings and selection of meze platters are the best the island has to offer, as well as zivania (the national drink). In fact, it was in the cellar of this very building that the production of this alcoholic treat began, in a cauldron still on display today. A mix of meats and vegetarian dishes are served up while you relax to the sound of live music on Fridays and Saturdays.

4.

Hobo’s Steak House
Steak and seclusion
Be sure to book your table at this meat-lover’s oasis located 50 metres from Larnaca’s main strip of beach. Popular and stylish, its obvious speciality is soft steak served in large portions. There’s also a good mix of local dishes, pasta and Middle Eastern meze, and it can all be enjoyed with brilliant balcony views of the sea. Don’t confuse the Steak House on the first floor with the more casual ground floor café – our preference is with the former, with its secluded feel above the crowds.

Monte Carlo
Cypriot style by the sea
A traditional eatery that has been run by the same family for more than three decades, Monte Carlo offers a homely ambience by the sea. Serving unique yet authentic dishes that have been nurtured through the generations, it has daily deliveries of fish from local waters as well as a rich variety of meat dishes. Try the ‘Seafood Lover’ platters, the Greek-style Prawn Saganaki, or opt for a sumptuous fillet steak or lamb chops.
