This short break takes you to the small village of Sorbyn, to a cosy cabin in the snowy forest, from where you can enjoy snowmobile and husky safaris and, hopefully, the unforgettable Northern Lights. Along the way you'll have the chance to sample delicious local food, and to spend a night under canvas in this magical landscape.
Today you'll fly to Lulea (via Stockholm) and transfer to Sorbyn Lodge. Here you'll have time to rest and perhaps explore your surroundings before a dinner of Swedish specialities including reindeer, Arctic char fish, forest fruits and fungi. Afterwards, there's a good chance of spotting the Northern Lights.
After breakfast this morning you'll head out for a three-hour snowmobile safari. You'll drive in pairs, following the course of the frozen Rane river and enjoying the spectacular views over the valley. After lunch back at the hotel you'll set off for a magical night under canvas at the Aurora Safari Camp in the heart of the forest. Here you'll enjoy a wilderness dinner and have another chance for Northern Lights spotting.
This morning you'll enjoy an exhilarating 90-minute ride in a sled pulled by Siberian huskies. You'll return to the Lodge for lunch, then have the afternoon at leisure. After dinner, you'll go in search of the Northern Lights. You'll be driven most of the way by 4x4, then make the short, easy hike to the mountain summit, giving you wonderful panoramic views over the forest. You'll sip hot drinks and cook sausages over an open fire as you wait for the astonishing light show to begin.
After breakfast this morning you'll be transferred back to Lulea in time for your flight home.
