Great Parks of the West

Description

Beautiful Vancouver is the starting point for this two-week circular tour that showcases the national parks of the Canadian Rockies. You travel east from the big city and the adventurous itinerary takes you through the Okanagan Valley, Glacier National Park, and Banff and Jasper national parks. Then drive west from Jasper through the Yellowhead Pass, Wells Gray Provincial Park and Garibaldi Provincial Park before returning to Vancouver.

Day 1
Arrival in Vancouver

Arrive at Vancouver International Airport and transfer independently to your downtown hotel. Here you will pick-up your Jonview Roadbook at the front desk as you check in then the remainder of the day is at leisure to do some exploring.

Day 2
Vancouver

A full day in Vancouver and the surrounding area. Climb aboard a San Francisco-style trolley for a city tour and sight see at your own pace as you hop-on and hop-off for any length of time at many premier attractions, parks, gardens, galleries and restaurants

Day 3
Vancouver To Penticton

Travel through the Coastal Mountains and Manning Provincial Park. The town of Penticton lies at the lower end of Okanagan Lake and the lush orchards and vineyards of the Okanagan Valley are all around. The region is renowned for its beaches and hot, dry climate.

Day 4
Penticton To Revelstoke

Enjoy a morning at leisure in Penticton and the beautiful Okanagan Valley before driving past spectacular waterfalls, towering peaks and beautiful lakes en route to the Revelstoke area.

Day 7
Banff To Jasper

Today is one of the most memorable drives when you head for Jasper along the spectacular Icefields Parkway. Your should spend some time at Peyto Lake and take an Ice Explorer ride out on the Columbia Icefield.

Day 8
Jasper National Park

You have a full day to relax and tour Jasper and the surrounding area. Take a boat cruise on Maligne Lake, exploring the depths of Maligne Canyon, a ride on the Jasper Tramway or a visit to Miette Hot Springs. If there's time try an exciting whitewater raft trip.

Day 10
100 Mile House

100 Mile House was founded during the days of the Cariboo Gold Rush, when a roadhouse was built to service prospectors heading to the goldfields. They travelled the Cariboo Wagon Road, beginning in Lillooet stopping at what became known as 100 Mile House.

Day 11
100 Mile House To Whistler

Today you will enjoy a scenic drive south along the Cariboo Highway and Duffey Lake Road to the edge of Garibaldi Provincial Park on the way to the popular year-round resort of Whistler, where the 2010 Winter Olympics were held.

We were very pleased with the service provided by Doug Scrivener and we shall recommend him to our friends.

The car that was provided for us was too small. Think the question needs to be asked if there are 4 people how many bags there will be? We also weren't made aware that we could pre-book our internal flight seats with United Airlines

Isaac Price did a wonderful job - was efficient, pleasant and very helpful in arranging this holiday for us. What made it particularly great was the car hire which Isaac managed to get included in the price of the flights so we were able to see much more on our holiday than we would otherwise have done. I really like the personal touch of your employees; they are a credit to your organisation and in particular, thank you, Isaac!

Flew to Vancouver

Please remind me next time I book a flight, NOT to go through Heathrow. The service for wheelchair assistance is appalling. It took over 1.5 hours to get from terminal 5 to terminal 3. As a result I missed my connection to Manchester and had then to wait for the next flight. Their attitude to anyone needing assistance is terrible

Great holiday. Great service with good follow up support from DialAFlight.

|
Flew to Vancouver

Only a couple of comments - a couple of hotels were adequate but could have been better and would have preferred upgrade options at time of booking.

|
Flew to Vancouver

Great to be able to speak to a real person and discuss options. Once booked, any queries can be dealt with by phone too. Staff are always polite, friendly and very efficient.
