Full Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Banff arrival

This is the perfect place to board the Rocky Mountaineer. This colourful town, which is a world renown ski resort in winter and a popular tourist destination the rest of the year, sits below towering peaks. The scenery in and around Banff is awesome and you may have time to visit the town's famous hot springs before joining the train

Day 2: Banff to Kamloops.

Today's journey takes you from Banff through some of Canada's most stunning scenery. Highlights include crossing the Continental Divide, weaving in and out of the spiral tunnels, crossing Kicking Horse Canyon, going over Roger's Pass and Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven. Day 3: Kamloops to Vancouver.

Now the train heads due west towards the Pacific Ocean. Today there are dramatic changes in the scenery, from the desert-like environment of the interior, through winding river canyons and pristine forests, to the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley and Hell's Gate and on towards the Coast and Cascade Mountains for an evening arrival in Vancouver.

Day 4: Vancouver

After your overnight stay in Vancouver the magical rail trip is over but you are free to explore this great city. Whether you view it from high up on Grouse Mountain, tour the sea shore, go shopping downtown or for a stroll in one of the many parks, Vancouver is the perfect laid back place to relax and reflect on all the wonderful sights you have seen from the comfort of the Rocky Mountaineer.
