Whenever you are heading east on a long haul flight, or returning home, it's worth considering stopping over in Taipei for a couple of nights. In the veritable blink of an eye, the capital city of Taiwan has transformed itself from an ugly duckling of Asia to one of the region’s most dynamic, comfortable and liveable cities. Most important to the intrepid traveller, Taipei is also fun. If you take some time to explore during the two days you are there you will see that Taipei is a city that’s managed to strike a fine balance between business and beauty, and between chaos and convenience.
You will be met on arrival at Taipei airport by one of our tour representatives and transferred in a private vehicle to your hotel. Then enjoy a half day tour of the city which is included in the cost of your stopover. You can go in the morning or afternoon, and you will be informed of your tour departure time when you arrive. After your tour go out and explore the city on your own and try one of the many fine restaurants or sample the great street cuisine at the Shilin Night Market.
Another day to tour the sights in this fascinating city seeing and doing as much as time will allow before catching your onward or homeward international flight. You can chill out with the young and trendy at the Ximendin shopping district, bike, skate or walk along Taipei's lovely new riverside leisure paths, take a trip to the nearby Yangmingshan National Park or relax over a fine cuppa and enjoy the spectacular views over the city from the tea-growing hills of Maokong. Later you will be collected from your hotel and driven to the airport.
