This great 11 day voyage, which begins in buzzing Saigon and ends in vibrant Singapore, is on board Coral Expeditions, a luxurious twin-hulled boutique catamaran which has been designed for maximum stability and comfort. Take some time to see the sights of Saigon before boarding the Coral Discoverer at Ho Chi Minh's central port at 1pm. Then gather on deck as you travel along the wide Saigon River towards the South China Sea and watch the hive of activity unfolding on the banks. Later join the captain for welcome drinks as excitement builds for the journey ahead.
After sailing through the night you arrive early today at Con Son Island with lots of time to explore. Here you can relax on beautiful beaches which you are likely have to yourself, and go swimming or snorkelling over incredible coral reefs. You can also learn of the island's history as a penal colony with a visit to the prison museum before ending the day with a beach BBQ.
Today you can relax on board and soak up the sunshine as the Coral Expedition cruises along Vietnam's scenic southern coast. Along the way you drop anchor to go ashore and spend some time at rarely visited villages far off the usual tourist trail. Shop for souvenirs at San Doc market and watch the fishermen bringing in their catch. Later today you cross the invisible line into Cambodian waters.
The Coral Expedition arrives at Kep this morning with its sand and pebble beach. Here you can go ashore and explore Cambodia's Kampot region, which is famous for agri- and aquaculture. Visit the bustling crab market and pepper farm and sample locally grown produce for lunch. Later in the day visit salt fields and see some ruins from the Khmer Rouge era.
One of the highlights of the trip today when you leave your catamaran and take the short flight to Siem Reap, cultural heart of Cambodia. Here you spend the rest of the day touring magnificent Angkor Wat with a local expert as well as stopping at Angkor Thom and the Bayon. You also have the chance to see Ta Prohm, the famous jungle-enveloped temple.
Today your luxurious catamaran docks at the Cambodian seaside resort of Sihanoukville. Enjoy the relaxed tropical atmosphere of this stylish city and visit some of the nearby coastal villages of Cambodia. You can also learn all about the Khmer culture and Cambodian history in the company of your local guide on a tour of this fascinating region.
The only full day at sea on your cruise so make the most of it and enjoy all the wonderful facilities and organised activities on board your luxurious catamaran. Today you cruise southwards towards your next destination, the east coast of Peninsula Malaysia. Throughout the day there are informative presentations from the Expedition Team which set the scene for the days ahead.
Today you arrive at Kota Bharu in Malaysia, the royal seat of the state of Kelantan and home to the unique architecture of the old royal palaces. On a tour you can see highly skilled artisans at work and stop at various cottage industries including batik and kite making and silversmithing. See traditional Malay life and culture and try local delicacies at the busy night markets.
When the Coral Expedition arrives at Pulau Perhentian you can enjoy a full day discovering the underwater paradise and natural beauty of the Perhentian Islands. Snorkel and dive some on the best and most colourful coral sites in South East Asia and try to spot sea turtles and reef sharks. If you prefer to stay on dry land you can go for a guided hike through the steamy jungle.
Travel ashore to Juara Beach on Pulau Tioman. Densely forested and sparsely inhabited, this is a laid-back and relaxing port of call. Learn about turtle rehabilitation at Juara Turtle Project and hike through the jungle to the friendly village of Mukut and to Asah Waterfall, with a chance to cool off. Then enjoy beach side activities after a picnic lunch. Your captain will host farewell drinks on deck this evening.
Your fascinating cruise around south east Asia comes to an end today when the Coral Expedition arrives at Singapore. Say farewell to new found friends then possibly stay on for a few days in this exciting destination visiting the Botanical Gardens, Raffles Hotel and the fun island of Sentosa before heading to the airport to catch your flight home.
