This superb 13 day voyage, which begins in vibrant Singapore and ends in the Burmese capital of Yangon, is on board Coral Expeditions, a luxurious twin-hulled boutique catamaran which has been designed for maximum stability and comfort. Accommodating just 50 guests, the vessel offers most of the facilities of a larger ship, while retaining the atmosphere of a private yacht, making it the perfect place to relax at sea as you sail to lots of exotic destinations.
You board the Coral Expeditions catamaran in Singapore at the end of the day, giving you plenty of time to explore before you set sail. Visit the Botanical Gardens, the famous Raffles Hotel or the fun island of Sentosa. As you sail away from Singapore this evening, enjoy the catain's welcome drinks overlooking the amazing city skyline.
Your first port of call on the cruise is Melaka, where you can learn of rich cultural history and Portuguese, Dutch and British influence during a city tour. Then sample delicious street food and take a ride in a rickshaw and visit the fascinating Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum.
Today you cruise northwards to explore the island of Pangkor, which is known for its fishing industry. Go ashore and take a guided tour of some of the cottage industries with visits to a traditional boat building yard and a dried fish factory. Tonight enjoy a local seafood steamboat dinner.
Today the Coral Expedition crosses into Thailand and you cruise along the stunning Andaman Coast, which is best known for its striking limestone karst cliffs. Go ashore and wander along pristine beaches and swim or snorkel in the protected waters of this beautiful marine park, which is a bird and wildlife haven.
You can experience local village life today on a guided walk around Ao Nang. Get to know all about the local cuisine on a special Thai cooking demonstration before returning to your catamaran and cruising along the beautiful Thai coast passing the popular resorts of Koh Phi Phi and Phuket.
Surrounded by limestone cliffs and karst outcrops, today you cruise north in the Andaman Sea. After clearing immigration at Kawthoung you will have time to make expedition stops as the mood takes you at little islands and isolated beaches en-route towards Burma.
Today the Coral Expedition docks at Swinton Island. Take time to walk one of the most gorgeous long white beaches you will ever see and meet the friendly fishing-families who will make you welcome. If you are feeling energetic you can hike to the hilltop pagoda and viewpoint or take to the warm tropical waters for a swim or snorkel.
Today you begin a two day in-depth exploration of the remote and unspoilt Mergui Archipelago where you can swim among inquisitive reef fish, snorkel over colourful coral and try your hand at SCUBA diving in this paradise location. This is also a great time to relax and soak up the tropical sunshine.
Another day to enjoy the beautiful Mergui Archipelago. Stay on board the catamaran and enjoy fun activities or go ashore and relax on one of the beautiful beaches. At Mergui you can view eagles, gibbons and other exotic creatures and meet and interact with local fishing families at Moken village.
A truly relaxing day today as the Coral Expedition cruises past stilted fishing villages along the beautiful coast of Myanmar, as Burma is now called. You can travel ashore to explore local markets and shop for souvenirs, meet the local and have a picnic lunch on one of the pristine stretches of beach.
Today you can retrace history at Mawlamyine, the former British capital of Burma from 1826 to 1852. Take a local bus or taxi to Thanbyuzayat and visit Burma's World War Two Railway memorial with its strong Australian war connection. If you have had enough touring, you can always spend a relaxing day on board your luxurious catamaran.
Cruise 30 miles through the Irrawaddy Delta and watch daily life go by on the banks of the rivers. Then from your Yangon River Port berth in the heart of the city, formerly called Rangoon, take an afternoon city tour seeing the Shwedagon Pagoda and walking around the historic colonial buildings. Tonight enjoy farewell drinks with the captain and crew.
Your wonderful cruise from Singapore to Burma comes to an end today. So after saying goodbye to new found friends leave the catamaran and explore more of this amazing city, possibly staying on for a few days so you can see all the sights, before heading to the airport to catch your flight home.
