The Taman Negara National Park is reputed to be the world's oldest rainforest. With a huge range of wildlife, thrilling rapids and cascading waterfalls, as well as a breathtaking treetop walkway, it's no wonder it's one of the world's leading ecotourism destinations. You'll have a chance to explore all the highlights of this fantastic location on this four-day trip.
Your adventure begins this morning as you leave Kuala Lumpur by coach and head to Kuala Tembeling Jetty, where you'll board your canopied longboat for the 60km cruise up the Tembeling River. Relax and enjoy the scenery as you pass through rubber plantations and Malay villages before arriving at Taman Negara's headquarters at Kuala Tahan. After dinner you'll enjoy an audio-visual introduction to the park by the Park Rangers before a guided walk to experience the sights and sounds of the rainforest after dark.
After breakfast you'll take an exciting stroll along the Canopy Walk, a 500 metre walkway strung 30 metres above the ground, with spectacular views over the park. You'll then continue your hike to Teresek Hill. After lunch you'll take a boat trip to the cascading waterfalls of Lata Berkoh, where you can swim in the clear waters or just relax in the gorgeous surroundings.
After breakfast you'll head out for today's exhilarating adventure: shooting the rapids all the way to Kuala Trenggan. On the way back, you'll visit the Orang Asli Settlement to meet the local people and learn about their villages, lives and work. This afternoon you're at leisure to relax or explore however you like.
After breakfast this morning you'll check out and take the boat back to Kuala Tembeling Jetty, from where you'll transfer by coach to Kuala Lumpur, where your adventure comes to an end.
