No visit to Africa is complete without taking at least one safari, but on this fabulous tour you can enjoy lots of them in some of the continent's most stunning areas. Every chance of seeing the Big Five - lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant - during any of the game drives. And there's a wonderful beginning to the tour at the legendary Victoria Falls, where you can stay and see the greatest curtain of falling water in the world before starting out on your adventure.
You will be collected from your hotel in Victoria Falls for your transfer to Kasane in Botswana. Following a short flight you arrive at Savute Safari Lodge in an area renowned for its population of bull elephant and for the unique interaction of the resident predator species. All suites have private decks, combined bedroom and sitting areas and en-suite facilities. Savute boasts a viewing deck, an al fresco dining area and swimming pool. After dinner tonight sit around a campfire sipping coffee or liquors before heading to bed.
An early morning wake-up call will be followed by a light breakfast. Then leave for the morning game drive which will be around three to four hours. Return to the lodge to relax and freshen up before a buffet brunch is served in the Boma. Relax in the heat of the afternoon then enjoy another game drive which will include sundowners in a scenic location. Arrive back at camp in the evening to freshen up before meeting for pre-dinner drinks and snacks at the bar followed by an a la carte or table d'hote dinner.
After another morning safari you fly off to Camp Okavango in the heart of the Okavango Delta, which covers 16,000sq km of crystal clear channels, serene lagoons and myriad islands. This unique wetland system survives atop the sands of the vast Kalahari Desert. The Okavango River, which rises in the highlands of Angola, never reaches the sea. Its waters empty over the sands resulting in a blue-green wilderness with emerald reed beds. Enjoy an evening game drive then return to the lodge for dinner.
After a light breakfast leave on a morning game drive before returning to the lodge to relax and freshen up before brunch is served in the dining area or deck. Then you have free time to spend relaxing either game viewing or bird watching from the lodge or to just relaxing at the pool. In the late afternoon, enjoy a high tea before departing on an afternoon game drive with sundowners in a scenic location, before returning to the lodge for your superb evening of dinner and drinks.
This morning, after another game drive, you fly the 60 minutes to La Tau. The park here is populated by up to 30,000 zebra and wildebeest closely accompanied by predators and offers the chance to experience the exhilaration of seeing large concentrations of game and the resultant predator interaction. The lodge offers a raised hide above the river where you can enjoy the spectacular wildlife sightings that you expect in this part of Botswana. Two game drives today and dinner and drinks back at the lodge.
An early morning wake-up call will be followed by a light breakfast before leaving for the morning game drive of three to four hours. Return to the lodge to relax and freshen up before buffet brunch and a relaxing afternoon around the pool. Then enjoy an evening game drive that will include sundowners in a scenic spot. After dinner and drinks back at the lodge swap stories with fellow travellers around the camp fire before heading to bed.
This morning, after another early game drive, when you can hope to see some or all of the Big Five, you are picked up and driven from the lodge to the local airstrip for the short flight to Maun Airport. Here you will be met by one of our tour representatives who will assist with your onward flight arrangements.
