This trip into the heart of Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest really is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, as you trek through the jungle to see wild gorillas in their natural habitat, considered by many to be the world's most profound natural history experience.
Your tour begins as you're met at Entebbe airport and transferred to your hotel.
After an early breakfast, you'll be transferred to Entebbe airport for your flight to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, where you'll be met on arrival and transferred to the camp in time for lunch. You'll have the afternoon at leisure to relax before dinner at the camp.
After breakfast this morning, you'll be driven to the park headquarters to begin your gorilla-trekking experience. The experienced guides will lead you to the site where they encountered the gorillas the day before, and from here you'll begin tracking. The gorillas move around from day to day in search of food, so the length of your hike today will depend on how far they've travelled, although you can generally expect it to take between one and six hours. It can be tough going, but the surroundings are truly spectacular, and you'll soon forget your tiredness when you encounter a wild gorilla family in its natural habitat – considered by many to be the ultimate natural history experience. You'll spend an hour with the gorillas, then enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to camp. Time permitting, you may also have the chance to hike the nearby forest trails and observe smaller primate species before dinner back at the camp.
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip for the your flight back to Entebbe, where your adventure comes to an end.
