Setting out from Vancouver, this eight-day cruise onboard Norwegian Sun is packed full of unforgettable sights. You'll be able to spot wildlife, including whales, porpoises, wolves and bears, in its natural environment amid the fjords and glaciers, as well as making the most of all the excellent onboard facilities, including hot tubs and pools, a wide choice of dining, sports facilities, a spa and world-class live entertainment.
Your cruise sets out from Vancouver, famous for its lush public parks and friendly atmosphere, as well as the excellent skiing just outside the city. You'll board Norwegian Sun in the late afternoon, giving you time to settle in to your comfortable accommodation and perhaps explore the ship a little before dinner.
A relaxing start to your holiday, as you enjoy a day of breathtaking cruising along the Inside Passage, past cascading waterfalls, thick forests and glacier tongues.
Today you'll have a full day in Ketchikan, a restored 19th-century fishing, canning and logging town. Nature-lovers will want to explore the local fjords and forests, by kayak, on foot or by bike, and watch out for wildlife including black bears and porpoises.
After a relaxed start to the day, you'll dock in Juneau in the late morning, and have the rest of the day and the evening to explore. Juneau is the capital of Alaska, but don't expect a crowded and bustling city: the main attraction here is the stunning natural landscape of forests and glaciers.
In 1896, the Klondike Gold Rush meant that Skagway grew from a tiny settlement to Alaska's second-biggest town in just a matter of months. You can still board the same White Pass and Yukon Route railway which once carried the prospectors over the mountain pass, but today you'll be searching for stunning views, not gold!
You have a full day of cruising on Norwegian Sun today, a perfect chance to relax and enjoy all the onboard facilities. You may like to take a long soak in a hot tub, enjoy some pampering in the spa, or relax in one of the 12 bars and lounges and enjoy the spectacular views.
Another full day of cruising today, as you pass alongside the breathtaking Hubbard Glacier. This is North America's largest calving glacier, which means that enormous chunks of ice regularly break off and crash dramatically into the water. Be sure to have your video camera handy to catch this impressive sight.
Your cruise comes to an end today in Anchorage. After you leave Norwegian Sun, do make time to admire the spectacular Chugach Mountains and perhaps visit some of the city's numerous parks and nature reserves.
