Full Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Sydney, Australia

One of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities, Sydney offers a plethora of attractions. Visit the iconic Sydney Opera House for a behind-the-scenes tour, scale Sydney Tower to survey the city from on high, take a walk across the iconic coathanger bridge or people watch at legendary Bondi Beach. So much to see and do before boarding the Celebrity Solstice for the short sailing to Melbourne.

Day 2: At Sea

The first of your four full days at sea and a good time to get to know the Celebrity Solstice and all that she has to offer. There are lots of 'firsts' associated with this ship including the first Lawn Club at sea, the first Hot Glass Show and it's the first cruise liner to have five women, known as the 'Leading Ladies' redesign and redecorate all the staterooms.

Day 3: Melbourne, Australia

Today the Celebrity Solstice arrives at Melbourne, in the state of Victoria, one of Australia's truly great cities. So much to see and do here and there's something for everyone in the country's cultural capital. Hunt for bargains at the Queen Vic market and visit the Abbotsford Convent with its art galleries, restaurants, gardens, bakeries and bars. And if you are a sports fan take a tour of the famous MCG - Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Day 4: At Sea

Your second full day at sea and a chance to relax on deck and soak up the sun as you cruise across the Tasman Sea towards New Zealand. You can have a treatment in the state of the art spa or visit the ship's Sky Observation Lounge - a quiet refuge by day for gazing over the sea with a cocktail in your hand and at night the space comes to life with live music and dancing.

Day 5: At Sea

Another full day at sea to enjoy more of the on board activities, entertainments and dining options. The ship's Cellar Masters is a place where you can sample tastes from around the world and refill your glass as many times as you like with the cutting edge Enomatic dispensing system using your SeaPass card. And if you need any help, expert sommeliers are on hand to give advice.

Day 6: Milford Sound, New Zealand

What a great place to arrive in New Zealand. As you sail into the fjords of the Milford Sound, even your ship will shrink in comparison to the towering cliffs. Situated within Fiordland National Park, this natural wonder is protected by its natural geography and is a haven for all types of wildlife. Then at Doubtful Sound cold mountain water cascades from the cliffs in this playground for fur seals and penguins. Then see Dusky Sound with its steep cliffs that have been carved over centuries by dozens of waterfalls.

Day 7: Dunedin, New Zealand

Were it not for the absence of the Scottish brogue, you might think you'd landed in Edinburgh when the Celebrity Solstice docks at Dunedin. Both the scenery and the architecture borrow heavily from Scotland and the city is also home to New Zealand's only castle. Lots of tours on offer that can be booked on board and while here you should take a walk up the world's steepest street and visit the city's amazingly ornate railway station.

Day 8: Akaroa, New Zealand

Nestled in the heart of an ancient volcano, Akaroa is rich with beautiful bays, French and English colonial history and even the largest little penguin colony on the mainland. It's also home to the rarest and smallest marine dolphin and lots of water sports including kayaking, and sailboats are on offer. Here you can also hike or cycle along designated paths on a special tour or pick up a unique souvenir from one of the many local craft shops and boutiques.

Day 9: Wellington, New Zealand

With a red-hot arts scene, hip wine bars, designer boutiques, and steep hillsides lined with picture-perfect Victorian houses – the Kiwi capital is a great place to spend the day. And if you get tired of all the city trappings, nearby destinations like Wairarapa wine region beckon. Lots of tours today that can be booked on board or you can go ashore and explore this wonderful city on your own and find out about the filming of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Day 10: At Sea

You last full day at sea so make the most of it. Relax and rejuvenate in the ship's serene spa at sea. Experience the unique services of Canyon Ranch in a breathtaking setting and enhance your cruise with a complete wellness and lifestyle program that helps you feel rejuvenated. Today you can also witness the incredible art of glassblowing with intimate live demonstrations. Watch and learn from professional glassblowers in this popular, one-of-a-kind exhibition from the renowned Corning Museum of Glass.

Day 11: Tauranga, New Zealand

Another day, another New Zealand town. Blessed with bucket-loads of sunshine and sandy shores, you’ll see why Captain Cook called this area the Bay of Plenty. Not far away lie the steaming hot springs, geysers and exploding mud pools of Rotorua, Tauranga is a stronghold of Maori culture and crafts. Plenty of tours today that are well worth taking as this is a unique area of the country.

Day 12: Bay Of Islands, New Zealand

Many people consider this the place where you find some of the world’s finest beaches. This is also the ideal spot to take part in more active pursuits, such as kayaking, mountain-biking, para-sailing, swimming with dolphins and scuba-diving. The beautiful sub-tropical Bay of Islands never disappoints and you will be spoiled for things to do while the ship is docked here.

Day 13: Auckland, New Zealand

Your wonderful cruise on the Celebrity Solstice comes to an end today when the ship arrives at Auckland on New Zealand's North Island. Climb the soaring 1076ft Sky Tower for jaw-dropping 360-degree views of this captivating Kiwi city, explore the stylish waterfront, or venture just a little further inland to visit the nation’s proud Maori heritage amid majestic landscapes shaped by no fewer than 48 volcanoes.
