Day 2
Boston
Today is free for you to explore this historic city. Follow the red footsteps of the Freedom Trail, one of Americas’ first historic walking tours. This is the perfect introduction to Colonial and Revolutionary Boston and takes you to 16 historical sites covering two and a half centuries of America’s most significant past. Visit Paul Revere’s House, the oldest building in downtown Boston which was the home of Paul Revere and his family from 1770 to 1800. Revere left here for his famous midnight ride. Walk through history as you visit each of Boston’s sites and stop at the dock where it all began, the Boston Tea Party, the revolution that changed the world.

Day 3
Boston to Rockport
Today you leave Boston and drive north toward Salem, home to the witch trials of 1692. Well aware of its infamy, Salem has a number of attractions centred on this uneasy time, including haunted tours and re-enactments. Continue to Rockport for an overnight stay. This lovely town at the tip of Cape Ann was settled in 1690. Over the years it has been an active fishing port and a thriving artistic community with multiple galleries. Visit Thatcher Island to see the Twin Lighthouses and the Bearskin Neck area where you will find lots of shops and galleries.

Day 4
Rockport to Holderness New Hampshire
Leave Rockport and enjoy the natural beauty of the stunning scenery. Make a brief stop in Kennebunkport which is filled with historic and fun-filled attractions and is one of Maine’s most popular summer holiday destinations. Two miles east of Kennebunkport’s Dock Square is the fishing village of Cape Porpoise where you can watch lobstermen unloading their catch and view Goat Island Lighthouse. Continue to Holderness passing Lake Winnipesaukee. Surrounded by three mountain ranges, the wooded shoreline and crystal clear water of this spring-fed lake make it a popular year round resort. Then you arrive at Holderness, a beautiful village at the foothills of the White Mountains.

Day 5
White Mountains
Today take a drive into the White Mountains National Forest. Better known as the Whites, this is one of America’s most popular public lands. The White Mountains rise in dramatic relief to the north of New Hampshire’s central plateau. Take a train ride to appreciate the beauty of the place either on one of the Valley routes to Conway or Bartlett, or the legendary Crawford Notch excursion or take an aerial tram ride above timberline to the 4,200-foot summit for outstanding views of the mountains and into Maine, Vermont and even Canada.

Day 6
Holderness to Newport
Today your tour continues when you head toward Newport, Rhode Island with stops in Manchester and Providence along the way. Newport is where in the early 1800s many wealthy New Yorkers built their holiday homes to escape the hot summer months. You will see a myriad of these exquisite estates that have become known as the Newport Mansions. Take a drive through “The Cottages” to see the luxurious mansions. The grounds and interiors of nine are open to the public. An overnight stay has been arranged here.

Day 7
Newport to Cape Cod
Take some time this morning to visit one of the famous Newport mansions before driving to Cape Cod. People come to Cape Cod to feel inspired, to walk the pristine beaches, to revel in the arts and culture, to indulge in the freshest fried clams, and savour the breathtaking scenic beauty. Lighthouses, cultural landscapes, and wild cranberry bogs offer a glimpse of Cape Cod’s past and continuing ways of life. Swimming, walking and biking are popular activities. Hyannis Harbour is also bustling with activity and the Kennedy Monument is found here. There is also Hyannis Port, home to the Kennedy Compound.

Cape Cod
Today is yours to explore all Cape Cod has to offer and the options are endless. You can travel to the outermost point to visit Provincetown, an artist’s haven and a shopping and dining paradise. Another option is visiting Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket Island, which are next to Cape Cod and reachable by Ferry from Falmouth. Both islands are full of charm and typical New England atmosphere. The best way to see the prettiest spots are on foot, bicycle or a combination of the two. Go horseback riding on the beach at sunset. Look for sunken ships and lost schooners on a scuba excursion or ride the surf on a boogie board.
