After breakfast today you drive to Agra where one of the wonders of the world awaits. On the way you stop at the pink sandstone abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri, which was built by Emperor Akbar. The emperor wanted to make Fatehpur Sikri his headquarters but had to abandon it due to a shortage of water. It is the best example of the fusion of Hindu and Muslim architecture in India and the Tomb of the Sheikh Salim Chishti enshrines the burial place of the Sufi saint who lived a religious life here. Today Fatehpur Sikri is a UNESCO World heritage site. Overnight in Agra.

Day 15
Agra to Delhi
This morning, greet the sunrise at the magnificent Taj Mahal. This beautiful monument was built by Shahjahan in the loving memory of his consort Mumtaz Mahal. A pure white marble structure, the Taj acquires different shades at different times of the day … the soft pink colour of dawn and a fiery red at dusk are bewitching. The edifice is replete with decorative inlays, carvings and calligraphy. Later in the day, visit the Agra Fort, built by Emperor Akbar in 1565. Inside are several palaces and the largest of pure marble mosques - the Moti Masjid. Then drive to Delhi where you spend your final night of the tour.

Day 16
Tour ends

Perhaps time for some more sightseeing in the capital or last minute shopping before one of our tour representatives picks you up from your hotel to take you to the airport to catch an onward flight or begin your journey home after experiencing one of the most interesting and colourful regions of India.
