Description

Australia is a country with so many famous icons and on this terrific tour, which takes you all over this vast country, you will see most of them. Beginning in Melbourne, where you explore the city, next stop is the Great Ocean Road before flying north to Alice Springs and a memorable trip to Ayers Rock and the Olgas. Then you head off east to one of the natural wonders of the world, the Great Barrier Reef before ending the 13 day trip in the wonderful city of Sydney. This tour is a great way to see all the best that Australia has to offer.

Day 1
Arrive Melbourne

On arrival at Melbourne Airport you will be met and driven to your hotel in the city. The remainder of the day is at leisure for you to relax after the journey then go out and explore on your own seeing some of the sights and possibly trying one of the many fine restaurants. You will be staying in Melbourne for three nights so you will have plenty of time to get to know it.

Day 2
Melbourne Sights – Penguins

After breakfast enjoy a morning tour of Melbourne seeing all the sights. Then in the afternoon depart for Phillip Island, stopping at the Warrook Cattle Farm on the way to see sheep, cattle, kangaroos and Australian birds. Visit the Koala Conservation Centre and watch the famous Penguin Parade, as the little penguins march up the sand to their resting places. Return to Melbourne for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Day 7
Uluru (Ayers Rock) – Cairns

This morning you are free to enjoy the facilities of Ayers Rock Resort, maybe take another trip out to the rock itself and walk around it, or just relax and soak up the hot sun in Australia's Red Centre. In the afternoon you will be picked up at your hotel and driven to Ayers Rock Airport for your flight to Cairns where you will again be met by one of our tour representatives and taken to your hotel in the city.

Day 8
Great Barrier Reef

Another memorable day today when you are taken on a cruise on a high-speed catamaran out to the Great Barrier Reef. Then board the famous Kuranda train for a breathtaking rail journey over the Barron Gorge, through the coastal sugarcane fields to Freshwater Station.

Everything went well except the flight from Dubai to Sydney on Qantas which was an old plane and the entertainment had broken, so the flight was long and boring with no films, otherwise it was good. Many thanks to the team who helped us

Premium economy worth the extra expense. Changi Village Hotel in Singapore was fine, but further away from the airport than expected

Perfectly planned trip as always.

Tell people who are travelling to OZ that there is duty free at airports on arrival. This saves time if you have only hand luggage as I had. If you buy in Dubai, for example, you have to have it wrapped and taken to a different place then collect in baggage in Brisbane.
