Overview
This wonderful eight day safari in the shadow of iconic Mount Kilimanjaro makes for a great African adventure. Beginning and ending in Arusha, Tanzania's gateway to the northern circuit of stellar national parks, this region is the starting point for so many memorable safaris. During you journey you will visit Lake Manyara, the Serengeti, Tarangire and the Ngorongoro Crater - considered the world's largest natural wildlife area.
Day 1
Arrive Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you are met by one of our tour representatives and taken to the Lake Duluti Serena Hotel, which is a short distance from Arusha Town Centre. The rest of the day and evening is free for you to go out and explore. Arusha has excellent places to eat and for the most part is lush and green and enjoys a temperate climate throughout the year, thanks to its altitude and its location near the foot of Mt Meru.

Day 2
Arusha to Lake Manyara
This morning is at leisure with a safari briefing followed by lunch. In the afternoon you take your seat in a safari vehicle and leave Arusha passing through the Masai Steppe filled with many picturesque African villages as well as maize, coffee and banana plantations. At the town of Makuyuni turn north west and continue through a scenic escarpment that brings you to your lodge, perched on the edge of the Rift Valley with stunning views over the distant Lake Manyara.

Day 3
Lake Manyara to Serengeti
After breakfast there's a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park that returns to the lodge for lunch. Leaving Lake Manyara behind, your journey continues north west across the stunning hilly countryside of the highlands which is filled with wheat and coffee plantations, and then into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. From here lie the vast plains of the Serengeti, where you begin spotting wildlife as you approach the entrance gate. Plenty of wildlife to see on the way to Serengeti Serena Lodge.

Day 4
Serengeti
A full day of safaris and relaxation at Serengeti Serena Lodge. Start early with a game drive in the Serengeti National Park before breakfast before relaxing at the lodge during the hot part of the day. Then in the evening it's off again into the national park watching the animals feeding, playing and hunting, returning to the lodge for a memorable dinner under the vast star-studded African sky listening to the sounds of the animals at night.

Day 5
Serengeti to Ngorongoro
This morning after breakfast you say farewell to the Serengeti Serena Lodge and leave for Ngorongoro viewing game across the vast Serengeti plains and stopping en route for a picnic lunch. Then continue to the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge which is set high on the rim of the awesome Ngorongoro Crater arriving in time for dinner. The Crater is considered to be the best place on Earth to view wildlife, so great adventures await.

Day 6
Ngorongoro
A highlight of the tour this morning as you explore the world’s largest natural wildlife arena. After breakfast, you descend with a picnic lunch through the early morning mists and 2,000 feet into the crater - the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Due to its size and diversity, the crater floor is made up of several distinct areas, ranging from forest, swamps, lakes and springs, to open grassland and some sandy dunes. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon.

Day 7
Ngorongoro to Tarangire
Today you leave Ngorongoro Crater after breakfast, head south east past Lake Manyara and Mto wa Mbu Village. Through the highlands and the Karatu district, you’ll see scenic wheat plains and coffee plantations before journeying down the spectacular escarpment turning south to the Tarangire Sopa Lodge where you stay tonight. After lunch board your safari vehicle and enjoy an afternoon game viewing in the park before returning for your final dinner of the trip.

Day 8
Tarangire to Arusha
Today your wonderful safari trip around northern Tanzania comes to an end. After breakfast you leave Tarangire and head north east to Arusha. This journey takes you through the Masai Steppe with its many picturesque African villages and along the way there is the chance of you seeing more wildlife. On arrival at Arusha lunch is waiting before you are taken to Kilimanjaro Airport to catch an onward flight or begin your journey back home.
